The Wild Geese are Paul and Dave. The name Wild Geese is a historical reference. It was when the Irish began leaving to fight alongside foreign armies in their struggle agianst the english.
The people being smuggled out of Ireland to join the Irish Brigades were noted in the ships cargo log as "Wild Geese". The name stuck and now is synonymous with mercenary warriors, or anyone who leaves to fight for a country other than their own.
In the words of Irish poet, Emily Lawless:
..
War battered dogs are we,
Fighters in every clime;
Fillers of trench and of grave,
Mockers bemocked by time,
War-dogs hungry and grey,
Gnawing a naked bone,
Fighters in every clime..
Every cause but our own
..
Paul and Dave both have travelled extensivly, teaching and training martial arts across the world. Both lads also work in the private security field, training and providing security in Ireland and many other countries. I think the name fits.
