Movies, art, pop art, pulp art, comic books/graphic novels, cooking, books, theatre, comedy, animation, nature, outdoorsy stuff, philosophy, weaponry, video games, herbal medicine, all things British or Japanese, crime (as a phenomenon), the circus, masks, puppetry, the carnival, travel, astrophysics and other topics that are totally beyond my realm of comprehension but have really cool-looking drawings- really I'm interested in just about anything if I approach it from the right way. I could be "well-rounded" or maybe I'm just "easily-amused." :)

A rare update- brought on by my desire to add a few artists as friends and nothing more. I don't come on here at all- ever really. But I DO use my facebook quite frequently so contact me there if you want- or aim- aim works nicely.
Let's get to the bullet points;
1. It's been a crazy year. Surreal really- but I've survived and grown from it and that's all I really care about.
2. I'm getting out of props. For all the bitching and moaning a lot of theatre companies do about not being able to keep around good props people, they sure do know how to fuck them over; driving them to neurotic breakdowns, IRS audits, impending bankruptcy and near drug addiction. (Note: I still like a few theatres, and most theatre people aren't bad- but as contractual employers they're usually menaces and unrealistically demanding cheap bastards- so liking a few places isn't enough to keep me around.) Besides, looking back I don't think I've made my own art as a theatrical props "artist" since I started this game. So fuck props- I'm making my own art and enjoying every last unmarketable, unprofitable bit of it!
3. I'm learning floral design and training to design parties.
4. I'm writing again. I wrote a short film this last summer in fact and was quite pleased with the results. My characters can come to life, I just need to put them on paper. I'm also doing photography and painting and found object art. I love it.
5. I'm selling my props stock off- check ebay. Help me get rid of my 1900's spinning wheel- PLEASE!
6. I want to go to grad school for Journalism focusing on international media issues with regard to the flow of information from Asia to the US.
7. I want to move to New York.
8. I want to live in Osaka for a while. Then Taipei. Then Hong Kong. I want to wander aimlessly in the backwater regions of China and sleep in the Fjordlands of New Zealand. I want to travel- I want to meet interesting people, see interesting creatures and then have the interesting people serve me those interesting creatures for dinner.
9. I make some damn good soup. I'm a huge foodie- I'll try anything once. If I dont' like it, I may even try it a second time just to be sure it wasn't a fluke the first time.
10. I'm nocturnal.
11. I know what my next tattoo will be.
12. My mantra is "Haere whakamua." Look it up. (No I'm not being an ass, I just feel that if I give the answer it won't carry as much meaning as it would if you have to figure it our yourself.
.. Wilykat- You're a danger to yourself and those
around you. Right now you get yourself into trouble and people excuse it because they think you're just cute and dumb. In a few years though you'll be raising hell and have an arrest record longer than War & Peace. You're a reckless rebel and if you're not careful you're going to put yourself (and probably a few others) in a very early grave. Don't drop the soap...
Who I'd like to meet: Cool people in general- eccentric, artsy, opinionated but not to the point of being pig-headed assholes. People who can make their own fun (i.e. broke-ass-bitches like myself- and people who don't need others to entertain them 24/7- I don't do demanding & needy.) More or less, if you're willing to talk with me and hold semi-intelligent conversation, I'm more than willing to be your friend. I do believe in friendship without straight-jackets however, so I perfer unstable elements be applied in nuclear fission and not my life.
My friends are like family to me- unfortunately I think of family in the Don Corleone sense in many ways. Don't cross me- I will take you down and walk off with your cannoli.
I'd of course love to meet "the one," but barring that I'll go for the two, three, four and so-on... which I realize may make me sound like a slut... But at least it's fun!
Also looking for people to network with- you know- swap ideas, resources, iv needles, family pets- the usual stuff.
Strawdog Artistic Director Nic Dimond, architect of our hit productions of Julius Caesar and Measure for Measure continues Strawdog's 20th Season exploration of the theme of dynasty, taking on a mean new cutting of Shakespeare's classic story of a man who carves his way through his family, cutting every throat that stands between him and the throne.
