Chuck "Wildmavrick"'s Interests
General
Kayaking, photography, learning mandarin Chinese.
I used to play WOW (World of Warcraft) but finally burned out on it. My friend Chris in China owns this Gold Farming website and I still want to support him. http://www.mmosale.com/
Check out "The Cleanse". It is a 13 minute film that won an award at the NPFF (National Paddle Film Festival) this year. Great music, familiar rivers to us Southeastern paddlers and some good carnage! The musical group who sing "Rain rain beautiful rain" are coming to the US in concert. They'll be in Charlotte, NC this October. Look in my friends list for "Ladysmith Black Mambazo" band.
Music
I'm from A-Town, I enjoy listening to the locals singing hip -hop to country. My tastes are very diverse and I also love foreign music, here is Twelve Girls Band from China, coming to the US in October 2007. I highly recommend them!
Movies
And for all those hold outs wondering why I'd want to move to China? ;) *drool*
Television
4400, Lost, Prison Break (not necessarily in that order)
Of course there is always Kayak TV to watch! Sweeeet!
I read the Hobbit & Lord of the Ring 3 times in middle school. Since then I've read a great deal of fantasy novels. Due to where I'm living, these days I'm reading more and more about Marco Polo and also about how China may have discovered North America before Christopher Columbus. Interesting stuff.
Heroes
My parents. Mom worked for the state of Georgia from the time she was 16 and retired at a young 52 years of age. My dad worked for Lockheed Martin and retired after a total span of 41 years. They worked hard for our family. Gave my sister and I a great life and helped us grow up into wonderful people. This video from Lockheed makes me so proud of my parents and the millions of other hard working Americans.

Hey there dear Chuck! Thanks so much for the birthday wish; I had a spectacular time trail running, paddling, n hot tubbing (ok the later is not "technically" a sport) with good people. Life is so good!
I hope it is treating you just as nice. When you coming back to GA?
How are things going? I have not gotten any real updates lately. I am good, mostly the same. Love you, Uncle Bob PS Just a little something from the US of A
It's true, I am launching a new restaurant in China. Go to my page and check out my video to see the first part of (hopefully) many... and if you read my blog, you will see my little story on the Sichuan earthquake as well... hey, I'm not 100% evil... right?
The Olympic Torch came to Wenzhou this morning, starting at 6:30am! It passed my neighborhood at about 8am and here it is one hour later and my photos are posted. A record for me! :)
I never saw the torch. It was lost in the crowd of people running on the road. It seems the police lost control of the barriers further up the road. It was still a spectacle to see!
All is well here. I'm far away from the Earthquake epicenter.
Bad News: My pal Chris, many of you know his name, he sold many of us gold for WOW. I haven't been able to reach him since the earthquake. :( I'm scared and worried about him. He just got engaged 2 weeks ago. I haven't been able to reach him or his employees. I don't know how to reach his finance either.
Chris came to Wenzhou 2 years ago to visit me and he's a good friend. I'm worried a lot and pray he and his family are fine!
Hi - Hope all is well. I'll try to call again when I can coordinate with your time zone and my cell signal! Send an email earlier. Having a good time around Sedona; took train ride and Pink Jeep Tour - Barbie would love it!
:]It's probably the best season of a year in southern China. I'm happy that your family came to China and you had good time here. Have you arrived home safely? Where are you now? How are they doing? What are you doing recently?
