The Wild Mountain Celts and The Indulgers completed a successful tour of Ireland making arrangements with a professional travel agency to bring along friends and fans interested in touring with the band. Flights, hotels, bus, food, and a site-seeing tour guide was included in the package trip. Both bands perfomed in Ennis Co. Clare with Johnny Fean guitarist and vocalist of Horslips a band considered to be one of the true pioneers of celtic rock music, and the Wild Mountain Celts performed on a live radio broadcast in Kilkenny. Plans are underway for another tour of Ireland in the future.
The Wild Mountain Celts is a celtic folk band hailing from Boulder, Colorado. The band's members are Damien McCarron guitar and vocals, Renee Fine violin, and Mike Nile guitar, mandolin, whistle, accordian, and vocal. Damien, Renee, and Mike also play in the celtic/western/rock band "The Indulgers". *****
Damien hails from Dublin and released his solo CD "Damien Promise - A Matter of Indulgence" in the early 90's. *****
Renee Fine performed with the Boulder Symphony as well as several "mountain rock bands" around the Boulder area since the mid 80's. *****
Mike Nile played bass with the legendary rock band "Spirit" for 13 years prior to relocating from Malibu California to Colorado and forming "The Indulgers" with Damien and Renee as well as Pat Murphy (drums) and Chris Murtaugh (bass). ******
After 6 CD's with the Indulgers - the Wild Mountain Celts were formed to focus on more of the stripped down "acoustic - folk - traditional style celtic music" not touched on by The Indulgers. The "Wild Mountain Celts" drive home a good-time pub sound mixing a bit of that "wild tornado rhythm" with a celtic melody. ********

Jim - Founder of "The Gatherin'"
Many thanks to our new friends at the "Th' Gatherin' Ancient Festival O' Beltane" near WaKeeney, Kansas.
There are festivals all over this land but there is nothing quite like "Th'Gatherin". People travel from all over the world (especially Scotland) to participate in "Th' Gatherin'", an event that has been going on for 13 years. You have to experience this for yourself. No other Scottish or Irish festival offers a shot at "the ancient ways" like this festival.
Feasts - ( turkey legs, prime rib, pork & beef ribs, sausages, cooked on the fires with a huge cauldron of vegetables served in loafs of bread with no utensils, you eat with your fingers like in days of old), camping - (pitch a tent, start your fire, and join the clans as they gather - or go the modern way and stay in a trailer or a motel in Wakeeney), Highland games - (where lads & lassies compete to see who become the "Warriors Of Destiny"), the running of the burning cross - (a crazy rugby style match between two teams using flaming crosses), carriage rides - (for the kids & adults behind a couple of giant Clydesdales), ancient storyteller -(Jim does a great job at this), burning of the giant 3 point bonfire (with 150,000 firecrackers inside that explode for over 10 minutes while fireworks go off overhead), dancing - (the ring dance for good luck), and celtic music - (playing with our old friends "Switchback" and our new friends "Against the Grain" to a wonderful fun loving audience).
Thanks for a fantastic and memorable time!
The "Warriors" gather at the bonfire site.
The "ring dance" for good luck.
