"Wild Orchid Children unleashed a tribal punk freakout that mashed together Beastie Boys, Deep Purple, and Lee "Scratch" Perry like it was always meant to be."
- jonathan zwickel www.spin.com
"...Wild Orchid Children overflow with garage-rock energy... Vocals are shouted en masse, like if the Beastie Boys rocked more than they rapped, and surplus passion emanates from the group's sounds with no corniness or irony. Many bands try to do this thing (rock hard and artfully), and most fail to blow new wind into its hoary sails. Wild Orchid Children have that intangible whoziwhatsit (forgive the technical jargon) that animates their music into specialness... "‘Sabotage’ meets Santana,”... WOC play Baby Boomer-endorsed classic rock, but it’s informed by hiphop and dub, so it sounds fantastic instead of like the rote worship of an era that they’ve only experienced via DVDs and copies of Rolling Stone... Wild Orchid Children stuff 10 pounds of action into a five-pound bag."

"Seattle's Wild Orchid Children took over Friday's sold-out show at The Troubadour (Hollywood, CA.) with an intense presentation of chaotic guitar shreds paired with aggressive vocals. Almost immediately, devoted fans committed to thrashing around, causing a nasty fist fight to ensue. Although it wasn't the last of the brawls to break out during the band's brief set, vocalist Kirk Huffman was able to keep his act together amidst the distractions. Self-described as "Gonzo Soul Music" the band was certainly a group of entertainers... it's not surprising the Wild Orchid Children have such a large cult following. Bouncing back and forth across the stage, mixing a metal-like drum and bass sound with soulful keys, the band certainly made a unique impression."

"The fact that they have a great hip hop vibe to their cacophonic punk is a selling point alone, but the crazy, twang-filled breakdown at the end seals the deal. This is one of the more promising unpolished outfits working in Seattle right now. I really look forward to watching them grow, but now I'm content to put (the EP) on repeat."

"Wild Orchid Children can set the mood with their psilocybin spirituals, wild-animal calls, and forest-fire guitars."

"Wild Orchid Children have the potential to outshine many of their peers in the music scene. This is a band to watch out for... future releases will blow minds far and wide."

"This is some NUTS shit. Clearly the band went into the studio with a random assortment of psychotropic drugs and “had at it”."
- kerry zettel of see me river www.kexp.org
"Wild Orchid Children came out of nowhere to become one of the most exciting acts in local music. They have a sound unlike any other Seattle band and the insanity of their stage performances is virtually unparalleled... leaving wowed audiences in the wake of their audial destruction."

"...The band’s set at Cha Cha during last summer’s Block Party downright blew my shit away. Every member ruled his respective instrument, and the frayed-edges blues with grinding organ, unhinged vocals, heavy drumming, and impressive guitar work combined for one of the best acts of the whole festival. It doesn’t hurt, either, that these dudes are some serious showmen—front man Kirk Huffman jumps and thrusts about with the best of them, and guitarist Thomas Hunter shreds like he’s possessed by some otherworldly rock ‘n’ roll force. This band is destined to do great things."
