Olivier Caron and Alexis Garsault met in 2001. Realizing they shared the same interest not only for heavy-metal but for all genres of music, they decided to create their own band. Wildpath was born.
With a line-up in place, they played a few venues in the Paris area and recorded their first demo. « Necromancer » attracted the attention of Willdric Lievin (Fairyland, Hamka), who offered his services to cut the first record, Nyx Secrets, at Arkham Asylum Studio. Dreamaker vocalist Elisa C. Martin was kind enough to be a guest singer on one of the numbers.
Nyx Secrets was released in Asia in 2006 by Japanese record company Staygold. Thanks to the label’s efforts, the album entered HMV’s Top 50 chart. It is now available online (Itunes, Virgin…) through digital distribution label Believe.
Over the years, the band’s line-up evolved. Some members decided to pursue solo careers, or venture into different directions, others stepped aside but remain part of the Wildpath family.
In 2007, in order to celebrate the opening of their very own studio, the band recorded a newer version of Necromancer, their original single, for the compilation CD « Tales from Different Worlds ». They also composed an instrumental piece to open this album, released by Heavylaw.
It is at their studio that the members of Wildpath - Marjolaine Bernard (vocals), Matthias Bouyssou (guitars), Olivier Caron (guitars), Nicolas Lopes (bass), Alexis Garsault (keyboards) and Pierre Mahier (drums) – have produced and recorded « Non Omnis Moriar », their second album @ Wildpath Studio. The Non Omnis Moriar's date from Japan is the 15 July 2009 !!!
