About me: WildRescue, Inc. is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization founded in 1999 by Diana Leggett. It serves the North Texas in community in two ways:
Domestic rabbit rescue and rehabilition
** we rescue domestic rabbits from the DFW animal shelters
** we spay/neuter domestic rabbits in anticipation of adopting them out to appropriate homes
** we sponsor adoption events to introduce our rabbits to potential new families
** we educate the public on the proper care and housing of domestic rabbits and other companion animals
** we maintain Rabbit's Rest Sanctuary, an American Sanctuary Association accredited facility that houses rabbits that are awaiting adoption or need a permanent safe place to live.
Sadly, there are far more domestic rabbits coming into DFW area shelters then we are able to adopt out
-- we currently have over 100 domestic rabbits located at the McKinney Sanctuary. Our goal is to find them all loving families to live with, but until we do, they have the Sanctuary as a place to call theirs.
Texas wildlife rescue and rehabilitation
** we rescue and rehabilitate native Texas wildlife for return back to the wild
** we create and build appropriate caging and environments to house wildlife in our care
** we educate the public to coexist with our "urban" wildlife, and offer exclusion and inclusion solutions for nuisance animals
** we educate the public on the importance of a healthy ecosystem to support wildlife
The wildlife that comes through our doors numbers in the 600-900s each year. The majority of that wildlife is the eastern cottontail (our most fragile mammal), the fox squirrel, and the Virginia opossum.
We depend completely on the donations of individuals for our operating costs. We hope you will consider supporting us so that we can continue to do this important work.
The cost of caring for the permanent resident's of Rabbits' Rest Sanctuary and our wild friends who stay with us during their rehabilitation is daunting. Feed, veterinary visits, spaying & neutering, new housing, medical supplies -- unfortunately the work we do at Wild Rescue is not inexpensive. We have been blessed with financial support from fellow animal lovers who understand the importance of what we do, but the need continues to be great.

3 bunnies from WildRescue donated blood so that our friend Nicolaus could get some serum made for his eye ulcer.
Until the last flesh is consumed and no more animals are born to doom Our struggle is beside the weak respect for life is what we seek
Until the last is forced to entertain and no more animals are driven insane For all those beaten to a cower we lend our strength and our power
Until the last suffers in a cruel test and scientific fraud is finally confessed To those voiceless we give them word until their agonizing cries are heard
Until the last dead skin is worn and for our usage no animal is born Relentless battles we must fight until all others see compassion's light
Until the last abuse has ceased and existence is granted to every beast We won't abandon or give in because this war we intend to win
Beckett This is Beckett. We had fabulous success on the Christmas in July party. Unfortunately we still need a bit more money to finish with Beckett’s care. He needs to have all of his 4 front teeth removed due to the fact that they are mangled. Beckett has also come down with a common parasite, so we need to also have him seen by the vet and treated. Beckett’s bill will come to about $260 when all is said and done. Right now he needs meds and TLC. Which we are happily providing. Can you help us offset his large bill? ..
