About me: WildRivers 101 Film Festival- a 12 day cinema and digital media extravaganza, August 27 through September 7, coming soon to a forest and theatre near you! A destination festival, WildRivers 101 attracts guests from out of the area, well as provide excellent programming to local residents from Garberville to Crescent City. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This 12-day event features screenings of classic, obscure, independant films, and digital media at historic venues all along the Highway 101 corridor. The venues include this year's film festival hub, the Eureka Theatre, the Minor Theatre, Garberville Theatre, Fortuna Theatre, Morris Graves Museum, and others. This year we are pleased to include outdoor screenings in our local treasures- the California State Parks, as part of their evening campfire series. All procedes from other screenings, to support their ever- important recreational and educational programs. Proceeds from other screenings, including the HC premier of "Humboldt County," the movie, will go to the Humboldt Film and Digital Media Commision, Sanctuary Stage, the Ink People, the Wine Consortium, and the WildRivers 101 Film Fest. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In addition to great cinema, there will be visiting filmmakers, Q & A sessions, actor's workshops, and panel discussions. Then plug-in at Canopy: A Digital Bridge (HSU, Access Humboldt, Humboldt Film and Digital Media Commission, StreamGuys, WR 101, and others) featuring workshops, presentations and forums on the changing trends in media, video game design, production, editing, and short content media, exploring how the Redwood Region can become a digital media hub. If that is not enough, there will be a MIND BLOWING Eureka Arts Alive! This is a "not to miss" evening of multi-media magic the evening of September 6th from the Morris Graves- throughout Old Town and Arcata's Localpalooza!-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
