...Once upon a Dreamtime Festival, a cosmic alignment occurred...
"My heart knew immediately, when I gazed into their eyes. It was an acknowledgment, an ancient remembrance, in my deepest of heart spaces. There is work to be done. Indeed, the Spirit of All Things has brought us together again; for we are called out as leaders, to usher in this great Earth Transition..." says JaTa Clay, referring to the moment when he first met Daniel and David Cooper.
After the first contact, on a bright, sunny day during the 2007 Dreamtime Festival in Paonia, Colorado, it was just a matter of surrender for these "long-found" soul brothers. Less than 48 hours later, as JaTa was walking into the Soul Maté Bar, he describes hearing an angelic sound coming from the stage.
"I couldn’t even help it. I immediately jumped on stage, joining the twins, David and Daniel. Our voices melted together in the most sacred of ways." JaTa recounts.
"You could hear the whole crowd gasp when we started harmonizing. It was like we were one voice. It felt so ancient. It was truly incredible." Daniel explains.
And so it was sealed. The seed of something great was planted.
As the following months passed, JaTa and Daniel would continue to exchange phone calls. Feeling as if Great Spirit had given them the same vision of global healing through sacred music and ceremony, it was clear to them that they must unite. After more transcendental music was played during their second union, at the 2007 Earthdance Festival, in Northern California, JaTa and Daniel decided to move into a house together, to cultivate the powerful vision that Spirit was giving them.
Now, several months later, JaTa, Daniel, David, and Manik, find themselves in a cozy cabin in Boulder, Colorado, playing in local venues, gatherings, and yoga studios. Tending the seed of evolution through music and kirtan, they are truly dedicated to "The Vision".
Through a unique, "wild-child" and heart felt approach, Daniel and JaTa are pushing the evolution of the ancient devotional art of kirtan. They bring a rawness of prayer and a freshness of Spirit, incorporating instruments such as acoustic guitar, harmonium, djembe, and cello, to their striking harmonies and sacred mantras. From the depths of soul searching meditation, to the ecstasy of driving, tribal rhythms, JaTa and Daniel are bridging worlds with their unique expression of "prayer-formance".
"...we are just channels. Vessels for Spirit to bring healing and unification to our generation. There is so much power in sacred sound. Its our heart to open a space for all people to connect with the divine in whatever way they can; to open their hearts by opening their voices in song..." JaTa says, smiling, his hand on his heart.
Daniel Cooper and JaTa Clay represent a new culture of unity on the rise; one of deep roots, open hearts, and sustainable evolution. Keep an eye and ear out for these inspired musicians entering the scene. Just in time, some would say, during such a critical time in this Earth story.
"It is just the beginning." says Daniel, with a radical conviction in his eyes. "I feel it burning in my soul like a fire. It is up to us. It is our time."
