About me:
I started out in the early '70s as a professional musician, then moved to Auburn AL to open Wildman Steve's Records, which reigned for 13 years as the definitive record store in town. For the last 7 years, I have been the morning DJ and for the last 5 years, the Program Director for WQNR in Auburn AL. While there, I created a GREAT radio station that played a variety of styles mixed together in celebration of good music. In the years after becoming PD, the station was awarded Station of the Year four years in a row (2004,5,6 & 7)by New Music Weekly, a trade publication that generates charts, and heralded as Homegrown Music Network's Station of the Year in 2007. In addition, I personally was honored as Program Director of the Year in 2006 by New Music Weekly. We won all these awards for one simple reason: the programming was all about quality music presented in an entertaining and diverse way for music lovers. Now I am taking my programming to the world! WildmanSteve Radio is on the internet NOW 24 hours a day, 7 days a week!
