NEW WILD T & THE SPIRIT CD OUT AT THE END OF FEBRUARY 2008!!
Wild T & the Spirit - " FENDER BENDER "
Tony Wild Springer has hung with the best of them. David Bowie, Jeff Healey, Bon Jovi, Deep Purple, Jay Leno, David Letterman and Arsenio Hall are just some of the musical acts and personalities that have been blown away by Wild T's guitar. He has toured with Bon Jovi and Deep Purple throughout North America and has performed thousands of club shows. In '99 he was asked to portray Jimi Hendrix in Daydream Believers - The Monkees Story because of his resemblance and showmanship.
At the end of February there will be Wild T & the Spirit..s new album released on Jazzhaus Records. It will be called "Fender Bender" with 13 songs on it in his own typical way of playing the Blues.
'Wild T & the Spirit' have just released their 5th full length CD on Jazzhaus Records. The new album covers the whole spectrum with guitar ripping' blues-rock, soulful melodies & psychedelic super jams. This is the album that everyone has been waiting for!
******************************************************
'Wild T & The Spirit' (fronted by guitarist Tony 'Wild T' Springer), is a powerful blues-rock jam band based in Toronto, Canada. The band has released 5 Cds and is currently touring all over Canada and Europe.
The band has built up a strong & loyal fan base of musicians and music loving fans over the years with it's powerful live show!
Jeff Healey said, "I followed him around like he was the Messiah...Tony has been my idol for years!"
Strong songwriting and musicianship has made 'Wild T & the Spirit' a very in demand act!
Originally, the band came together in 1990 with guitarist Tony 'Wild T' Springer, drummer Danny Bilan and bassist Nazem Lakay. The band was signed to Warner Music Canada and released 2 albums (Love Crazy 1991, Givin' Blood 1993). "Givin Blood" was nominated for best hardrock album at the 1994 JUNO (Canada's Grammy) awards. In 1993, 'Wild T & the Spirit' was also hand picked to perform on a 14 city tour across Canada opening for Bon Jovi on the "Keep The Faith Tour".
During this time, guitarist Springer was also asked to tour & record with David Bowie.
"A absolute delight to work with...a lyrical, lilting take on Hendrix" says David Bowie.
Springer appears on the CD "Back Tie, White Noise" and performed with Bowie in concert all over the US.
After the tour with David Bowie, Tony continued to tour Canada & US with his band. However, frustrated with the lack of effort by his record company at the time, Tony decided not to renew his contract.
Tony then left for Chicago, USA where he countinued gigging as a sideman with many great blues bands.
For a short time, he also had a Chicago based version of 'Wild T & the Spirit' that toured throughout the mid-west & Texas. One of the highlights during this period, was opening up a string of concerts for "Deep Purple" in places like Detroit, Chicago & New York City.
But, like all great blues songs, there were a few disappointments in the "Windy City", so Tony returned to Toronto and by late 2002, the band 'Wild T & the Spirit' was reformed by Springer and bassist Guenther Kapelle.
(Kapelle had spent many years gigging and recording in the Los Angeles music scene and had toured all over Canada, USA and Europe with 'The Blazers' and other top acts).
With addition of drummer Brian Lass and veteran Toronto keyboardist Peter Nunn, the group recorded the CD "True Bliss", which was released in Canada, USA and Europe by Bullseye/Taxim Records in 2004.
"Wild T Springer is building a reputation for himself as the next premier guitarist to emerge from the Canadian music scene!" says Tom Richards of the Michigan Blues Society about the "True Bliss" CD.
The band then began a relentless tour schedule of Canada and Europe with drummer Andre Tellier and keyboardist Robert Angelow, playing in all sorts of venues and at some of the largest festivals. This kept the band touring throughout 2004 & 2005.
A compilation CD of the first two 'Wild T & the Spirit' albums called "I've Got The Rhythm" was released in 2005.
In August 2005, drummer Boris "The Russian Rocket" Andranov joined the band just in time for their 2 month, 7 country, European tour. This also included a stop at the BBC studios in London, England to perform live on "Paul Jones Blues Show" on BBC Radio 1.
But in March 2006, the band made a few changes by recruited powerhouse Toronto drummer Chris Lesso and returned to the power trio format minus the keyboards. The band kept touring and ended up up on some of same stages with Jeff Healey, "Canned Heat", Roger Hodgson of "Supertramp", Mick Taylor of "The Rolling Stones" & Joe Bonamassa to name a few.
In 2009 the band introduced new drummer Murad Gunduz, who adds a big groove to the band. Murad hails from St. Catherines, ON Canada and is a veteran of Ontario music scene. He also holds down the drum duties for 3 time Grammy winner Walter Ostenak.
This line up of Springer, Kapelle and Gunduz has been receiving rave reviews from fans & press all over. The combination of blistering guitar blues-rock, stellar musicianship, soulful melodies and psychedelic super jams, have made their fans in North America and Europe go crazy for there live concerts!
If you wish to purchase any of our CDs (" FENDER BENDER", "TRUE BLISS", "I'VE GOT THE RHYTHM") you can order them online at http://www.wildt.ca, CDBABY.COM or pick them from the stage at one our concerts in your area!

Hello to all Firstly, I hope all is well with you and yours. I am personally touching base with everyone on my friend’s list. I have the next few months off before I start a tour early next year, and I want to take this time to thank you for your friendship and support , and share my latest news. In my latest blog I posted the transcript of my recent interview with MUEN Magazine, which was featured in the October issue. It explains a lot more about who I am behind the music, if you are interested. There is a free mp3 download of a song I did called “Be Still” that can exclusively be downloaded from my iLike profile. As always, just click on any of the links on the right side of my main profile page to access my iTunes, Facebook, YouTube, iLike, official page etc. If you will, please add me at any site you are on, as I do different things on each site. I am also announcing that “Blush” and “Disclaimer”, two songs off my debut album “The Good Fight”, will soon be downloadable on Xbox live and PS3 Nation to play on Rock Band. I leave you now with a song I uploaded today on my YouTube. It’s my spin on my all time favorite blues song, and part of my live set. I recorded it at my house the other day. It also debuts the new logo I designed. Hope you enjoy it. If you dig my work, share it with a friend. I don’t care about fame or money, I am just one man who loves music, and dedicates my life to sharing it with as many people as possible. Thank you again for your friendship and support. Best Wishes Gregory Ploy of Oracle
You are not a treasure, you are the treasure. In azure mix with elixir fix, you bring the blue sky and physician’s witchlike tone that grounds my soul. From deepest pit to last atmosphere, you hold gold in all that tears. Happiest smile that reflects your response is mine to now fire your way in an appreciative way that brings such crack to my face, I can’t hold back, only to spread my love for your consistent friendship and lack of fear to face life and all its gear. You are my privilege.
Hey! Vedette is playing this Friday (Oct 9th) at the Silver Dollar (NW corner of College & Spadina) and will be joined by Palace of the End, Nature Move Faster as well as Actors and Architechts (who promise a PARTY, because they are are having their CD release Party!!!). As well, it is Thanksgiving weekend, and there's just so much to be thankful for, including live music in this great city of ours, and BOOZE... so are you comin' or what?
Forgive me for my repeated pestering. Music sooths the savage breast but does so much more. It defines cultures and generations. Music is tied to every aspect of life, death and beyond. It buffers and riffs; it clamors and splits tribes into genres adrift. It tells of a tale that is never quite script. It calls me to stop, it brings me to dip, and it places pace and locks down with grip. Flirting faster or slower, music’s tempo is always a rip to the fabric of man who rides this great trip. As music holds reprise so do my words on such food, but at least these redundancies hold shaky aim. We come in all shapes and sizes, colours and name; not surprising that music does quite the same. I ask only that you read yet you do more and reply and that feeds my steed. The call of the light brigade is how I feel when hearing the sound of your comments like reed to the wind instrumentalist’s ear. You grace my page with response and that helps plow fields of respect for you. The seeds are planted and we both wipe brow and give thanks to all that germinate the arts. You are not only an artistic plant but you plant artistic inspiration in every gesture and slight glance you give. Never stop. Whatever we need to do to hang onto this spinning flask, our love for art should always be an aspect kept close to the heart and should be known to all.
This eye weary pen, this tear in minds eye that forms, when others show opinions of favor, is seed for spirited inspiration. It is always good to bask in such friendship. You help fill my blank page. It is I who carries gratitude for such grace…forgive my blanketed approach
