The main ingredient of the "Wild Ukulele String Band" is:
Rod Alward . Other Members include:
Cat Kresh, Randy Alward, Rose Alward Kazen and our newest memeber: Dave Bond. They have played together in one form or another at the Ionia Bluegrass Show ~ Now - Saranac Acoustic Jamboree , Mackinaw City's "Mackinaw Crossings Mall", Lansing,MI. Art Fest, Lansing, MI. Folk Fest, Magdalena's Tea House and other assorted places.
The music is "Home Grown and Home Made" ~ a mix of Bluegrass, Blues, Folk, Jazz, Jug Band & Gospel with a slight touch of Rock! Start with a Ukulele, add in guitar, mandolin, banjo, harmonica, washboard, trashcan bass, suitcase bass drum along with many other "Homemade" instruments ~ and you've got a sound that's all it's own!

Passersby stop to listen to the "Wild Ukulele String Band" while protected from the sun under an umbrella Saturday. After the rains dissipated, the sun and heat returned with a vengeance.
They have performed at one of Michigan's largest and best Music Festivals: Wheatland Music Fest in September!!!

Hey hey hey, Pie! ... Or, as they say in Dundee, 'peh', as in 'Geeza peh a bridie an an ingin in ana'. Good luck tomorrow night, we don't do this for the pay, clearly, but for the love of the music, and for that, if you have one, God bless you. If, like me, you don't, then may the collective creative spirit of humanity course through your being. it wasn't my club house, it was Thirsty Dave's and he lost loads of equipment ... desperately sad, not least because he is one of the most stand-up, decent and generous people I have ever met. Have an ace weekend. I'm off to Cheltenham (136 miles to the South of me), for a weekend of fun with my Scottish bird (she's a long way from home) ... I might even get a haircut - ah the wild, care-free life of a rock 'n' roller.
Inside the now burnt-out clubhouse (it wasn't the heater that set it afire)
Hey hey hey Deb & co. How's it going? We called in at my parent's local village hall. It was the end of the village show. My old girl picked up a stack of prizes for her knitting, baking, jam-making etc. I brought a load of cakes, scones, tarts, pies and such like back home, but ate them all before I had a chance to: a) share them with anyone, or b) take a photograph to send to you. Sorry. All I can do is describe them ... they were yummy. You all busy enough? You are sounding as good as ever ... once we get these bus times sorted out, I'll try to get along for a jam. Please check out The Compound ... it's a diary piece (sort of) of the Yard Dogs trip to America ... since then (you may have seen elsewhere) the club house where we played burned down ... all we have is the photographs, a few recordings of some middle aged men playing the odd tune and laughing a lot, and the memories.

Please be informed that G. Wood/Undercover Bonobos have posted a new song entitled "Seeds" on their Myspace music player. We strongly advise that you review this material carefully. Your commentary is welcomed.
Analysis: We have been informed that this song sounds like a Communist Collective work song. We are further advised that it may be misconstrued as a treatise on the cultivation of illegal herbage. We are cautioned that some listeners may experience a shift in psychological set and setting during the "psychedelic" interlude. Please report any activity of this nature forthwith.
This song may be intended and interpreted as a tribute to the late, great, Sky Saxon.
We gratefully anticipate your thoughts on this matter.
