The Story of Wild Voodoo
As the new millennium came to pass, a cosmic alignment of the stars heralded a conflagration.
Jay Quinn and John Wild were like-minded men on a mission. Men wild-eyed with the passionate pursuit of their obsession. Men who loved Blue-eyed Soul, Rock‘n’Roll, The Blues, Country Honk, Folk-Tinged Multiple-Part Harmonies, and Swamp-Rock. The stuff that dreams are made of. In the laboratory of their minds, they experimented with various permutations of their vision.
There was one ingredient missing from their formula for utopian dream: in short, they sought a guitarist who could kick ass and make unbelievable facial contortions while playing his axe. A chance meeting (or was it fickle finger of fate?) one night during a somewhat impromptu jam session brought Dex Umekubo -- also known as T-Dex -- into their lives. His guitar playing was sublime and his arsenal of facial expressions often rendered him unrecognizable to the other members of the band.
Because of the overwhelming levels of testosterone, female members of the audience have been known to swoon and become weak-kneed due to this powerful force of nature balanced precariously amidst the somewhat unstable bubbling potion that is Wild Voodoo.
And it was good. Very good. Yet something was missing…a drummer! They needed a drummer. And not just any drummer would do. They required the services of a questing beast intent on chivalry. Sort of like Chewbacca in human form. Chewy (aka Jarrod Sawyer) was summoned from his underground lair and the beat began to throb and pulsate.
Jay took up his five-stringed bass and began to groove. In order to thoroughly confound the gods, he added vocals.
John wielded his mighty microphone while power-strumming on his chosen Excalibur, and the alignment was complete. The heavens shuddered and a new presence rose up from the shadows, howling like a shape-shifting banshee.
And thus was born a mighty and majestic entity that could not be contained. Something like a boogie-minded, groove-oriented, soul-shaking, music-making, zombie-raising, swamp-dwelling, guitar-wailing and vocalizing kind of voodoo – only wilder.
AND INTRODUCING...

Wild Voodoo Two performs in a slightly free-wheeling style, although we still rock out. HARD.
