The upbeat country sound of Wiley will have everyone shining up their boots and two-stepping all night long. Wiley is a 6-piece country dance band with a blues/rock edge. Wiley gives a fresh polish to classic country songs by Waylon Jennings and George Strait, country favorites like Steve Earle and Patti Loveless and the altcountry grooves of Neko Case and Corb Lund.
Wiley features two lead vocalists: Tracy Wright, whose life-long dream has been to head up a country band, and Jason “Cowboy” Bishop, who has been singing for friends, family, rugby mates and rodeo riders for many years. Rod Bandura, who has performed for audiences across Canada as singer-songwriter and guitarist in Wasksue and the Henry Small Band, plays red-hot country licks on lead guitar. Leslie Collier’s mandolin lends a bluegrass flavor, and her lap steel accents the country sound. Wiley’s rhythm section features Lynn Goetting, who has played her electric bass throughout the BC Interior in many bands, and drummer Johnny Durr who has toured across western Canada with several rock and country bands, including Kings Inc and Diezel.
Wiley has performed at various venues and private functions in the Kamloops area, Merritt, and the South Thompson/Okanagan region. This summer, Wiley will tour the 2007 Rodeo circuit, playing the Rodeo dances for the Falkland Stampede, Ashcroft Stampede, Pritchard Rodeo, and the second annual Canoe Mountain Rodeo held in Valemount.
Currently, Wiley is busy in the studio working on their first CD which will be available for sale by summer of 2007.
Wiley provides full P.A. set-up and lighting.
