Sounds like? Have you no speakers? No broadband? Shame on you! This is 2008 you know, there should be alien ferrets running up our trousers by now, really.
Stop Press: It's now 2009, and in an unexpected twist my trousers are infested with alien Ferrets!!
“From contagiously happy-go-lucky keyboard licks and cheery vocals to piercing, tortured guitar riffs and soulful wails Wilful Missing manage to cover a lot of acoustic ground . . . managing to be eclectic yet consistent thanks to the continuity provided by Sam Kipling's distinctive vocals.”
Sandman Magazine CD review, September 2008
Wilful Missing are a great experience live or on record, with beautifully arranged songs featuring Mandolin, Cello, Acoustic Guitar, Keyboards, Accordion, Bagpipes, Cajon, Drums, Bass, Smacked Electric Guitar, Penny Whistle and Albert's Whistling!
In 2007 and 2008 Wilful Missing recorded a batch of new songs, while road testing them live around Yorkshire. They have gigged with Jeffrey Lewis, Dufus, The Wave Pictures and Neil McSweeney in Bradford, Leeds, York, London and Sheffield and have made festival appearances in Bradford and the Yorkshire Dales. Wilful Missing have played recorded live radio sessions on Bradford's BCB106.6FM and Ramair.
2009 will see the release of a new EP and hopefully later an album of live and radio session recordings.
"Bradford's Wilful Missing seem to be instinctive elaborators of melody, and a rewarding texture appears to develop effortlessly in their work." www.LeedsMusicScene.net (gig review)
"I was introduced to your fantastic sounds last night at my friend Mr Stewarts gig
You were wonderful . . . I think i may have fallen a little bit in love with you all and your sandals!!"
"Wilful Missing - they blew my mind!"
“Sam's voice is layered with sweetness and warmth that shines through every song” The Met Newspaper, April 2008
“They know when and when not to play which creates a great sense of space within their songs”
MONO live review, April 2007
"There’s a spark of genius in their stuff and I hope it gets the right conditions to blaze up."
