Influences
Wilkes Booth is one of the last authentic "Dirty Rock Bands". Founded in 1992 by Guitarist Dave Wilkes Booth, The original incarnation of the band was started in Hollywood, California , and played in the numerous famous clubs along the Sunset Strip and throughout Los Angeles. During this period, the band released two E.P. demo compilations, which will be re-released for the New York fanbase in the next few months. The band enjoyed moderate success before the music scene changed, and forced the band to re-locate back to New York, where it's members were born and raised. The band also experienced the first of what would become many personnel changes.
In 1996 the band released it's first full length CD of original material, entitled "BLOWS YOU AWAY" which debuted the lineup of lyricist/singer Bobby "Rocker" Fredericks, Bassist Jason Carter, and Drummer/percussionist Mike Fittos, joining the founder/Guitarist Dave Wilkes Booth. This incarnation lived in "Cosmic Jam Rooms" on Cairn Street for many years and played virtually every nightclub in Western New York.
With the passing of Jason Carter in 1997, the band obtained the services of Bassist Kevin Rappenecker, and recorded their follow-up CD entitled "ONE NIGHT STAND". This particular release was highly successful for the band, bringing much desired radio airplay and various tracks being used in local films and CD compilations. Wilkes Booth continued to tour and do television for many years with this lineup and product.
The band is currently writing and recording for their third release with a new bass player once again. Please welcome Bryan "THE RIPPER" Juda! We are pleased to have him join us! The forthcoming album will be entitled "JUST FOR YOU". This masterpiece will be available to the public within the year, and in the meantime you can witness living history by catching the band live at only the premiere nightclubs in Upstate New York!!!!
