Countess, I'm not on da MySpace that much, but from the messages below, it looks like I "missed" your birthday. The quote-marks indicate that my belated b-day wishes mean, from my perspective, anyways, I didn't miss the occasion at all, that in fact and in truth I wish you a time-traveller's Happy Birthday. (Editor's note: Who's the time traveller? Your sentence is unclear, Carey. Back to the drawing-board witchyu, now...) This birthday and all those stretching out over the horizon. I remember that episode of "The Little Rascals" in your loop there where the kids rolled down that hill with their cute little extend-a-punch thingy goin', whappin' them WPAs like the deserving semi-employed riffraff they were. The footage missed the one of me getting hit by the extender, except the boxing glove had fallen off. Now I don't have a face on my head! Anyways, Amanda, you and the hubby and the kids have a great Thanksgiving, allright?
Amanda, That's a good picture you have on Facebook. I don't even have an account with them! How backward is that?! I hope you have a happy birthday coming up this next Sunday (10-18-09.) Are you going with the hyphenated name? Either way, it's a great picture. Sort of reminiscent of that near-to-last last scene in Batman Begins when Katie Holmes and Christian Bale are surveying the destruction of the Wayne mansion. No, she didn't sport a ballcap 'n commie-tee look for the scene! Revisit that film, and ask yourself, does that movie star have anything on me? I pictured my character in Adam & Eve, Eve Hansen, as looking like a Dawson's Creek-era Katie Holmes. Maybe you'd make a good sketch for her grown up in a sequel, I dunno. Even if this we lose touch, though, just for shits 'n grins, occasionally glance at the new fiction in the bookstore to see if ol' Kev got lucky. There's this agent from Georgia looking at my stuff now who thinks it's good, so you never know.
Countess, I'm doing well! I'm out in north-central Nevada, they're just finishing up a geothermal well I was on. (Pressure and temperature tests.) I think I'm going to California next. But even with the bouncing around, I'm glad to be employed. I was out of work for about four months. It looks like you're doing well. I'm not on MySpace as much as I used to be, it's a long story as to why it's more problematic with this new company, so I'll cut to the chase and just leave that there. Sizzurp has a point, you know. And it's not a bad thing. Religion is about the worship of, or even of the holding in high esteem of undefinable supernatural powers or entities. You seem to be just ducky right the way you are. Do not attempt to adjust the horizontal, the vertical blah blah blah. Reminds me of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, which further reminds me of your once-frequent bulletins, announcing your favorite tunes of the moment. One that especially sticks in my head was that VNV Nation tune you put up there last year. "We possess the power, If this should start to fall apart, To mend divides, To change the world, To reach the farthest star. If we should stay silent, If fear should win our hearts, Our light will have long diminished, Before it reaches the farthest star."
Their well isn't looking so "hot." Terrible, yes I know. Oh well, better luck next time. Amanda, I gotta go. I hate trying to write through frequent inturruptions. Glad you liked that burger. And I'm very glad you're doing well andare happy. Hasta la vista - Kevin
I also disagree with that definition of religion. I have a better definition. "Any supernaturalist worldview." If you hate the God's you still hold religious beliefs. If you believe that you're a God, and that you can control the weather, that's still a religion. If you don't believe in any gods, and you do not believe that anything governs the universe, but you do believe that different spirits wander around, and you can use magic to travel through the spirit realm, you still hold a religion.
