Will and Crystal Yates are worship leaders from Northwest Florida, and are the worship leaders at Niceville Assembly. Will is originally from Argyle, Fl., while Crystal was born and raised in Niceville. They met in Okaloosa-Walton College where Will played lead guitar and Crystal was a show choir singer. Having been married for nearly ten years and blessed with a son, they are a living testament to God’s love and grace. Will and Crystal desire to bring healing through lifestyles of worship and the testimony of God’s power and mercy in their lives. Their passion for music defines their ministry; to lead God’s people into lifestyles of praise and worship and ignite a fire in the hearts of his children through the talents and gifts He has given them. Will and Crystal have drawn inspiration from several artists such as Rita Springer, Dann Huff, Israel Houghton, Steven Curtis Chapman, and Paul Baloche, and they have grown as Christians and worship leaders by the influence of friends, family and the pastoral mentors God has placed in their life. Some of their other favorite artists include Leeland, Switchfoot, Hillsongs United, and Brooke Fraser. In 2000, they performed on a new, modern version of "The Chaplet of Divine Mercy" which currently airs on EWTN. Will and Crystal released their first album, entitled “Dwell Here” in September of 2006. “Dwell Here” began with their marriage and grew into a project that focused on their desire to have God come and dwell in their life. The album contains moving songs such as “Who Carries Me,” “Merciful Ways,” and “Dwell Here,” which showcase the couple’s vocal and musical talent while also conveying a simple, yet powerful message of God’s love and grace. “Merciful Ways” was also published and released in 2006 in a project named “Here to Worship,” which can be purchased on spiritsoundmusic.com. The Yates wrote all the songs on the CD except for “Caught In Your Eyes,” which was written by Joshua Baldwin and sung by Will. “Dwell Here” is full of rich, deep songs that tug at the heart and move the listener to sing along in praise to God. While simple and easy to relate to, the message behind each track is a potent example of the wonder of God’s mercy and the meaning of a true, intimate relationship with Him. Crystal’s voice is smooth and melodic, and Will’s instrumental accompaniment provides a solid foundation in each and every song. The couple achieve a perfect blend of vocal and instrumental rhythm that makes their music comforting and at the same time invigorating. Listening to the CD over and over, you begin to truly understand what the connection with God is really about. Yes he's a very nice guy, the church is growing stronger in Christ everyday, i love being there. i come all the way from Freeport to go there. my parents don't really like taking me there so much, they don't really care for me going there. they're not really Christians but i'm not going to let them stop me from loving God and spending time with him. still, its kind of hard living with them but who knows,maybe they could come to God one day.
