FREECYCLE GROUPS

Here are some links to area Freecycle groups. Freecycle is an emailing group powered by Yahoo! Groups that enables residents of cities throughout the world to giveaway items that would otherwise end up in the trash. People join Freecycle for many different reasons: many simply want access to free stuff, some do it for environmental reasons, others do it for charity reasons, etc. Below is a list of Freecycle groups local to the Kankakee County Area. I would suggest joining them all.

When you join the Freecycle groups be sure to make a new folder in your email and filter all mail from "freecycle" or from "yahoogroups.com" into that folder. Otherwise, you may clutter your inbox. Please email me if you have questions about how to do this.
FOR SALE GROUPS

Freeycle is a wonderful concept and very useful, but there are many items that people just want to sell; and there are many items that are too valuable to find for free. The local For Sale groups are set up similarly to the Freecycle groups. You will receieve emails advertising goods and services for sale as well as events such as garage sales, yard sales, rummage sales, and even some commercial sales. This is a great place to find items for cheap. You can request to buy something or offer items for sale.
