Will is continuing to work hard on his own solo material, with the fantastic new Winter Sun recently uploaded - have a listen, and let us know what you think!
After great performances in the Whitla Hall, Culloden Hotel and Guinness Storehouse (and regular shows around the country with the fire performance group FirePoise), Will continues to play intimate gigs to appreciative crowds - most recently at Pontoon Bridge, Mayo.
We should be updating the calendar more regularly, but life gets in the way!
So much art comes about through the artist layering the perfect combination of colour and feeling, and it is this concept that Will has been working with.
Using a loop station, he has been creating soundscapes and composing layered pieces, allowing him to bring greater emotion and complexity to his playing.
We will be updating this page with Will's new music again soon, so keep checking back to see what's new!
In the meantime, thanks for your visit, and your support... you can contact Will through this page.
"Will Hawkins represents some of the best of Northern Ireland new music talent, a breathtaking technique and musicianship, a creative imagination and flexibility and a competent and professional manner, coupled with the talent to bring original and very unique compositions to life for the audience. He is also a very easy person to work with on all levels and a genuinely lovely guy.
"It was delightful to book him for the launch of our creative writing programme, especially as I felt he engaged so well with the type of event it was, gauging the audience and the venue and preparing a great combination of lighter introductory music as people arrived, and some more technically impressive and commanding pieces after the readings.
"He also seemed to connect to the people reading so well, meaning the event felt seamless and brought the different art forms together beautifully. I certainly hope to book him again for more Council arts events in the near future!" Rebecca Caines
Castlereagh Arts Officer
"On Tuesday February 24 2009, the Belfast Book Festival held a reception in the Linen Hall Library to launch our very first Festival. We asked Will to create an atmosphere in the room while people were gathering and understand how to play to such a crowd. However, we also wanted his music to be interesting enough to grab their attention.
I can say, without a doubt, that Will managed to achieve this delicate balance and the Festival and Library would be happy to have Will back should an appropriate occasion arise.
In all our dealings with Will Hawkins, he was professional and personable. He came prepared and dealt with all the technical issues for his performance. Thank you Will, for your great work."
Kelly-Anne Collins
Belfast Book Festival Director
