  • Bio

...... ............ .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ...... ...... .. ........ Born in Buffalo NY, Will Holton has been playing the sax for over 10 years and “wowing” the public professionally for the past 2 years. Starting his humble beginnings by playing at home when his father gave him his first saxophone as a gift in his junior year of high school, he honed his talent in church on Sundays and throughout the many spiritually musical performances throughout the years. Will Holton recorded 2 cds with the international choir “The New Beginnings Chorale Ensemble” and acknowledging that “God has a plan for me”, he also graciously performed for the American Cancer Society and for the auspicious sororities Alpha Kappa Alpha and Zeta Phi Beta. Cementing his reputation of being a smooth savvy musician, he made a decision to crossover to jazz by being the opening act for such notables as longtime friend Najee, India Arie and Maysa. Additionally, Will has also played with Stanley Jordan, Keyshia Cole, Carl Thomas,Joseph Wooten, & as of latest Jon B. just to name a few. One of the momentous occasions for Will was being awarded the Buffalo Music Award as New Original 1st year artist. Will Holton, one of the newest saxophonists on the jazz scene has forged his place in the music world with his debut cd titled “Always”. This first cd was a chance to set the world upside down by using his musical and personal experiences and putting them to music. Drawing on his influences of Michael Brecker, Gerald Albright, Bruce Wojick and many others the cd is a tumultuous whirl of the ups and downs of Will’s life. Shown poignantly by the tune “Distant Love”, Will explored his emotions by penning this song after the ending of a relationship as shown by the interlude of a real voice mail she left on his phone. So, what should the public expect? Well, all we need to do is keep an ear out for the man with a sax in one hand and the world in his other. Look out as we present….Will Holton!
