DeVault, determined he needed to add something to the readings of his internationally acclaimed works, the decision was simple. As club poet Bob Dylan before him, he would fuse with music. But whereas Mr. Dylan chose the folk and, eventually, rock pathways, the keystone poet of the digital renaissance chose to build a virtual backup band to lend ambience and atmosphere to his work. Thus, in February of 2006, on his Apple iTunes Music Store podcast, From Out of the City, the poet debuted his band, The Gods of Love, to strong positive reaction.
Still experimenting, still playing, still loving stretching the boundaries and definitions of both music and poetry,William F. DeVault and The Gods of Love have only begun their quest for world domination.
While primarily a studio band, there are intentions of putting together a live act, building on the poet's experiences in his readings nationwide, including Los Angeles, where he plans to return in 2007 and live out his days...and nights.

I stayed up all night writing love songs but I couldn't capture the beauty in you eyes in your lips the sweetness you cover me in so I'll just speak and say live in me help me breath taste me when i break collect me when I yell never forget me Its so hard to hear a song when I used to bleed and I never belonged My day is now covered in night as I reflect in my mistakes Don't push me away pull me under cover me try to hid me so they wont see me They try to take me I won't follow my thoughts my soul they try to swallow push me deeper in a hole cause they say its best for me the unknown Here it's dark and it's cold and I have no one to hold here things cut here I bleed please come rescue me before i plant a hateful seed
hey man, how are things going? its been a while... hows your poetry going? the photo business is starting, i have a couple clients lined up, and a couple people want me to do their weddings.. so. its getting there...i just got a new camera and printer. its pretty cool.. havent had time to set the printer up yet... need a place on my desk for that to happen:P anyways, take care...

It, too, is a living being, breathing new life with each and every submission that is chosen to appear in these pages. And surely this issue – our fourth – is breathing deeply! The voices here are many and diverse.
