About me:
My name is William Gary Coffey. I worked for City of Poughkeepsie Police Department. I was born on August 8th, 1963. On December 13th, 1991 after work, I attended a squad party. After the party I went to the local bowling ally. I left the bowling ally about 2:30am and about 3:00am, the Sheriff's Office called my parents house about me. K-9 search units had a search for me. A witness saw someone running south on the Hudson River's rail road tracks, but search dogs went north. Why north ? Search dogs took the scent off the drivers seat in my car. Could it be that some one else drove my car ? Who drove my car ? My jacket was in the back seat of my car. My wallet, badge and my gun was on the hood of the car. My holster was about 50ft from my car. There was a foot print outside my car in the dirt. The size that appeared was a size 12 in mens. This is strange to me because my shoe size is only a 10 and a half in mens. So, who's foot print is this ? On May 20th of 1992, I was found dead floating in the Hudson River in the lovely town of Poughkeepsie. According to experts, I was dead and floating in the river for about 5 and a half months. So who is this mystery man that killed me ? Or should I say men ?

Exactly how far north did the dogs follow that scent ? That would explain that phone call made from " HANDY HARRY'S " wouldn't it ? I wonder where that cab driver is today ?
Accusation - The act of accusing : the state of being accused , a charge of wrong doing. That test kit came back N E G A T I V E but, you knew it ! Didn't you ?
Cold Case - Refers to a criminal investigation that has not been solved and is not the subject of current investigation . Is it laziness ? Are you afraid of what you might find ? Or is it that you just don't care that I was murdered ?
When you come to my grave, please don't steal my cross or destroy my flowers. Just " S M I L E " .

So did anyone ever find out who was driving that dark colored pick up truck ? You know . . . the one speeding away from my murder scene ? What about the two eye witnesses ? What ever happened to them ?

How did it make you feel to look me in the eyes and then kill me ? Do you remember my last words ? When you close your eyes at night, do you still see my face ?
You , who assumed . . . thank you ! And you the first to run to my family and friends spreading lies about me . . . So thank you , but what hurt the most was you because you just walked away from it all . . . So thank you too !
Did you know that no one made a cast of that size 12 foot print the night of my death ? Did you know I was suspended without pay after ten days for not showing up for work ? Later they did reinstate me. Did you know that before ANYONE told my parents that a body matching my description was found in the river it was already broadcasted on the radio ? Could I have been shown any less respect as a human or a fellow officer ?

Did you know that the call first came in as shots fired ? Later they told my family that it had to be rocks hitting the tracks. So my family took a Mazda RX7 down to the tracks and tried " MANY TIMES " , but the rocks that hit the tracks DID NOT sound like gun shots to them. What do they know ? They aren't the EXPERTS . . . Are they ?

Hey remember years ago you made a statement at my parents house ? You said that my case would be solved 20 to 25 years from now and only if someone confesses on their death bed ! Why would you make a statement like that ? You must know something . . . . Dont you ?
You know they beat the hell out of me that night. The pain was unbearable and for that brief moment there was an intense cold , but you've thought about that . . . . . haven't you ?
Did you know it has been 17 years, 204 months, 884 weeks and 6,205 days since YOU KILLED ME ? Why after all these years are the physics still saying it was YOUR HAIR in my hand ?

Well, it's been a dreary, rainy day here, but I did get some yard sales in. I even bought myself a little something I normally wouldn't splurge on, but it reminded me of hanging out with my grampa so I just HAD to...lol. I will probably give it to my grand daughter sometime down the road...but for now I'll just set it in the corner and smile each time I see it. :) I'll post a pic of it in a bulletin a little later...but for now I am gearing up to watch COPS and hope you'll join me...I'll make popcorn...haha.
