William Geslin started spinning his first vinyls back in 1990 to explore his passion for funk, hip hop and electro. In 1996, he’s leaving for New York City to spin in clubs like Twilo, Vinyl, Tunnel or Sound Factory alongside such DJing giants as DERRICK CARTER, FRANKIE KNUCKLES, DAVID MORALES, FRANCOIS KEVORKIAN or DAFT PUNK debut. He also found himself working for the embryonic, now legendary RAWKUS label for 1 year (home to MOS DEF, TALIB KWELI and PETE ROCK among many others).
Back to the motherland in 1999 - Paris - where William focused on music production and created BAGATELLE with his old school mate GONZO. They released a couple of great electro maxis very acclaimed by international music press & dj’s enjoying a lot of licenses on quality compilations and big synchs.
In 2001, William embarked on its own venture and created JAM BLOCK RECORDS. He signed and produced a bunch of N°1 hits in French charts since then, plus a couple of OST for movies and international advertising.
More recently, he has been called by Interscope US to remix SOULJA BOY worldwide hit “Crank That” or by TF1 to DJ and co present a prime time TV show called DANCEFLOOR (2,5 millions viewers every night).
Beginning 2009, he created a new production and publishing company YUMMY TUNES and just achieved his first solo album "OPEN THE DOOR”, explosive cocktail of electro, hip hop and disco, that LG Electronics licensed for 10 000 premium copies. He will shoot a videoclip on the first single “Open the door” next may 2009. Watch out !
William Geslin, fait ses premières armes derrière des platines en 1990 pour explorer sa passion pour l’électro, le hip-hop, le funk et la soul. Entre 1996 et 1998, il part vivre à New York pour un MBA et devient resident dans les meilleurs clubs de la pomme (Twilo, Tunnel, Save the robots…). Il joue régulièrement aux côtés de DERRICK CARTER, FRANCKIE KNUCKLES, FRANCOIS KEVORKIAN ou encore DAFT PUNK à leurs débuts.
A son retour à Paris en 1999, il se lance dans la production musicale sous le pseudonyme BAGATELLE ou encore de PLAYMO'BITCH. Ses maxis vinyles fusion de break jazzy, hip hop et house feront le bohneur des Dj’s internationaux. Ce buzz permettra à Will d’obtenir les faveurs de la presse musicale et de jouer dans les plus grands festivals: Montreux Jazz, Transmusicales, Printemps de Bourges… Il crée parallèlement le label JAM BLOCK RECORDS sur lequel il signe une demi douzaine de N°1 des charts, des bandes originales de film ainsi que des publicités internationales.
Récemment, la Major N°1 aux USA Interscope/Universal l’a choisi pour son savoir faire, et il s’est illustré avec un remix imparable du hit planétaire “Crank That” du phénomène SOULJA BOY, qui a ouvert la voix des grosses radios françaises à l’instar du titre original. Au dernier trimestre 2008, TF1 l’a choisi pour son access prime time quotidien DANCEFLOOR en tant que Dj et animateur (2,5 millions de téléspactateurs).
Actualité 2009:
- Sa nouvelle société de production et d’édition YUMMY TUNES.
- Son album intitulé “OPEN THE DOOR”, cocktail explosif d’electro, de pop, hip hop et disco, licencié en avant première au fabricant électronique d’avant garde LG et distribué à 10 000 copies premium. Il prepare actuellement le videoclip du single “Open the door” (en écoute).
- Il vient de signer avec Same Player/Pathé la composition de la bande originale du film “Protéger et Servir” (Kad Merad, Clovis Cornillac, Carole Bouquet) qui sortira en février 2010.
