Sounds Like
Great Big Sea in a little bitty duo! "Ship-Kickin' Music!" The way the Rogues Gallery CD should have sounded!
William & Felicia specialize in songs of the sea -- sea shanties and other songs of a nautical nature both traditional and contemporary. Is it "Pirate Music"? There's a bit of pirate music in there as well -- worth an "ARRRRRGH" or two! Call it "Ship-Kickin' Music" if you will. Their approach to this maritime music is more modern and high energy than the traditional a cappella style of shanty singing.
Felicia uses the ancient hurdy-gurdy or vielle-a-roue and the Irish tin whistle to great effect -- as a melody instrument or invoking sounds like electric guitars, cello, bagpipe, or brass to acompany songs.
William's guitar and octave mandolin work sets the songs to driving rhythms or delicate delicate back-up.
Great vocal harmonies round out their big energetic sound.

Thanx a million for the add. I really enjoyed seeing you perform at Bristol. I used to come see you at least once every weekend, usually more. I love the winter album, except trying to wait for winter to listen to it... heh heh... please come by my page and sample my music... not real pretty or polished, but neither am I... Good journey to you...
We’re really excited to have you performing at the 2008 Northwest Folklife Festival! You’re scheduled on 5/24/08 on the Norhtwest Court Stage at 1:30 PM. For more details, check out www. nwfolklife. org.
Hey, I know all the words to the Byrds' version of "Jack Tarr The Sailor" ... Roger McGuinn is one of my "friends" ... and I love the Hollies version of the Peter, Paul, & Mary song,"Very Last Day" ... so get off of my case, William the Pint! :)
Great to virtually connect. Hope y'all are keeping well and warm! We went to Winnipeg last weekend for the Festival du Voyageur. What a hoot - not cold enough in Minnesota so we have to go north!
