William Red Rossi (WRR) was born in Brest, France, of singer/dancer mother Rachel Martin Parra (Spanish) and musician father Firminio Rossi (Italian). He lives in Bellinzona, Switzerland. As a self-taught musician, WRR continues to develop his guitar technique, guided by his passion for music, at the same time dedicating himself to singer/songwriting. His musical education and training go hand in hand with his personal life experiences that constantly stimulate his development as a musician. His work as a guitarist, composer and singer, combined with the experience of collaborating with many musicians and music professionals have led to the production of several albums of his own music. Rossi's musical identity comes from his own authenticity and instinct, mixed with the influence of other musical genres. His refined style is the ideal platform for vocals and lyrics that highlight the emotions experienced by himself firsthand. In all his productions William Red Rossi maintains his undeniable originality and authenticity. He has performed in numerous concerts and festivals, especially as a guitarist, in Switzerland and Italy. In 1992 Rossi founded the rock blues band "the Black Spot", flanked by his brother Jonathan Red Rossi as vocalist, Michel Vanotti (keyboards) and Angelo Acocella (drums). After its break-up, WRR wrote "Bianco Panna" in 2000, and in 2005 "Three" (ProgFactory), in the progressive-rock genre; it was thanks to these that WRR became known also overseas. WRR took part (with Max Pizio and Italo Pesce) in the Tribute to Carlos Santana with international artists, for the well-known Italian record label Mellow Records in the compilation "Guitars Dancing in the Light". He has taken part in various events such as Piazza Blues, Rock Record Cafe, Musica Oltre, and also Open Air festivals as a special guest, alongside international bands like More Experience, OTR, Mao Mao, Nick Russell, Dixie Dinamyte, and in the 1997 jam session "After Hours Piazza Blues", backed up the "Kinsey Report". From 1998 to 2000 he performed as guitarist and vocalist in the WRR Trio, with Italo Pesce (drums) and Ivan Griggio (bass) in various live blues-rock events. During the 1990s he performed for about 10 years in the most important events in the Swiss-Italian and Northern Italian area: Piazza Blues, Resega (backup to the band "Pina"), in Palco ai Giovani in Piazza Riforma, Lugano, Piazza Grande Locarno, Open Air San Vittore, and as backup to the Italian band "Modena City Ramblers", "Pat Becatini", and others. In 2000, William Red Rossi, together with the duo "Mentiacontatto" performed and recorded one of his own songs, in a compilation selected and produced by the label Maximum Respect of Zurich, for Expo 2000 in Hannover (Germany). In the same year he was a participant at the Accademia di Sanremo with another of his own compositions: "senza voglia e senza sete" with Lory Balbina (voice). In 2009 he participated in the event "Christmas in Jazz" as special guest with the "Carlo Uboldi Trio", later collaborating on several occasions both live and in the studio with Carlo Uboldi (piano) and Luca Calabrese (trumpet). .. ..DISCOGRAPHY.. .. 2000 Bianco Panna .. 2001 Young Feelings Espo Hannover • Label Maximum Respect (CH) .. 2005 Three • ProgFactory (CH) • Special Thank's • Lele Hofmann .. 2010 • CD - MMP 489 A/B • A TRIBUTE TO SANTANA ..
