Laurie (Fly) and Rick Williams are an internationally acclaimed writing duo. Both are 'old as gold' and just as solid. Fly has been a life long peace activist, a flower child of the 60s who spent most of her college days in a purple haze and politically active. Her songs, poems and published works have always reflected her concerns. Their song, "Between Iraq and Hard Place' was selected to be on a CD called 'Protest Songs for a Better Planet' and has been aired world wide. Her friends affectionatly refer to her lyrics as the 'slit-your-wrist' varity but they aim right to the heart, be it politically or emotionally. "I believe that in each of us there is a place for exquisite pain, longing and love. It is from this place that I find my words." (direct quote from Fly).
She has been likened to a female Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan with her deep felt poetry and pure, emotional vocals. She also happens to be about 80% deaf, so listen to the words and excuse any 'pitchiness - running on relative pitch here guys...cut me a break and LISTEN to the WORDS.

Rick Williams has been in the music world since childhood. He and his family 'The Williams Family' were big in the gospel field in the 60's and then they switched to pop music and opened for many top names on the 'Fair Curcuit'. Rick is a clinical psychologist and a college professor during the year, but 'the singing shrink' becomes Bluegrass star when the weather heats up. His group, The Nearly Brothers, is on the road during the summer and well known throughout the Bluegrass world.
We traveled a bit to Scotland where we recorded a new CD with our friend and GREAT rock/blues singer, Huntly. We worked, recorded, ate, drank (a lot) and had a perfect time. We hosted our Aussie pal, songwriter and singer, Lisa Butler, founder of Imaginotionsongs.com. We had a wonderful visit, had time for some quality recording and exchanging of trade secrets between continents. I love all of this international collaberation! This year we have stayed State side and worked local Mother Earth, but are currently collaborating with other writers in Australia, the Philipines, Singapore and Spain.
