  • Heroes

I have no heroes per se, but I do have many people in my life, both, past and present I admire. What constitutes a hero? Someone who believes in God, that is solid and centered in character, that has the ability to distinguish right from wrong, that can give direction and guidance, and who is also willing to listen, who can trust and love, that respects human life, that could sacrifice one's own life to save another, and never but never, compromises their integrity.

About me:

I'm 58 years old with children and grandchildren. I grew up in a small town south of Seattle.... Maple Valley, Washington. I became a professinal musician,(or should I say a drummer, after all, drummers just hang out with musicians). My career spanned parts of the 60's, UNI Recording Artists "The Sundae Funnies".... all of the 70's "The Loco Brothers", "Kiss Porky", "Silverlode". and most of the 80's including "Tall Chic", featuring Darci LaRae. I've been in so many bands I can't remember them all....... I have played with so many great players over the years, I have wonderful memories, and so much respect for all your talent. and I wish every one of you, Gods blessings in life. I moved to Nebraska in 1987, my music career became more parttime.... I performed live and recorded with "The Tablerockers"(house band for the Zoo Bar), blues artist "Honeyboy Turner", Blues Rock Group "The Travis Wagner Band", country artist "Jerry Quaid", and Rock group "Steele Dreams", and most recently Jump Blues Band "JellyRoll" featuring "J.L. Wilson"....... From 1989 to 1994 I was soundman for the world famous "Zoo Bar" right here in Lincoln, Nebraska. If your not familiar with the Zoo Bar, for over 30 years it has been the premier place to go for live blues in the midwest, having had such players as "Gatemouth Brown, Eddy Clearwater, Magic Slim, Charlie Musselwhite", Matt (guitar) Murphy and a host of other national blues legends.

The Baddest Funk Band in the Land...

    Dumpstaphunk
    w/ Funk Trek
    Saturday, Jan. 30th, 2010
    Slowdown
    Omaha, NE

    Doors: 8pm
    Show: 9pm
    ALL AGES

Dumpstaphunk is a who's who of New Orleans Funk. This super group's members have performed with some of the baddest and most influential groups on the scene. When they hit the stage as Dumpstaphunk, be ready for some of the nastiest, most serial crushin' funk to ever come out of New Orleans and beyond. Their funk is so nasty they need two bassists to bring it all together! With each member bringing his own flavor to the music, the power of this combination is undeniable. After several years of local gigs including Jazz Fest and Mardi Gras, they have placed the idea of spreading the Dumpstaphunk theory on the front burner and we are all the beneficiaries of this movement. They are now ragin' the club and festival scene ushering in the new age of funk. We couldn't be more excited for them to bring the fire to the "Good Life" for a Saturday night event at the Slowdown! Prepare to be PHUNKED!
