Hey I'm William Thornton. I'm about to give you a really long about me to read ;)
When I was about 12 years old I went to Shocco Springs Student Life Camp, where I met Chris Davis, the worship leader for that week. While there, I got to know Chris a little better. We ate breakfast together and just hung out and talked. At worship that day I saw Chris on stage and how on fire he was for God. i then realized then what my dream would be.
From that point on I started listening to alot more music and came across a band some of you may know as Big Daddy Weave. Wow, I don't even know where to begin! they are the reason I picked up a guitar in the first place. If I had never heard their music, I probably would have never even thought of leading in music. Chris taught me that you can worship and still have fun but the guys from Big Daddy Weave are who really got me into wanting to write my own stuff and to not be afraid to express my heart in my songs.
In 2005, I met a group of guys in a christian band known as Poor And Wretched, now known as RUSH OF FOOLS. I spent a great deal of time with them, helping them out with little things that every band needs done. Little did I know, they would be the ones who helped me. Having been spending so much time with these guys, they were molding me into what a worship leader should be. They were like a family to me. They took me under their wing and taught me what true worship is, and that you can be crazy and have fun on stage when your doing it. They taught me that there is a time for joking and a time to be serious. And I believe that is how it should be.
I would have never expected to recieve any of the blessings that have been bestowed upon me these past few years. i never could have even thought about coming this far without Jesus Christ. My thanks to all of you who have gotten me where I am spiritually and mentally. If you have any questions about anything, please don't hesitate to get in touch with me.
that's awesome! I've always wanted to be a Christian singer or in a band like Barlowgirl, but yea I'm not that great but oh well, I'll just keep singing and maybe one day it'll happen if God wants it too!
