William Vandermade is a young musician from the Sydney metropolitan area.
His early teenage years were to mark his musical beginnings, where he’d spend hours and days hammering on the keys of the family’s piano.
Five years has passed since and William has intensely developed his crafts as a performer and composer and has an already illustrious career to look back upon, with performances at countless venues, from the Sound Lounge to The Domain and ANZ Stadium.
William has also written and produced music for many ensembles, from local indie bands to The Sydney Youth Orchestra, and has also written and produced music for several accomplished solo artists.
Now, William is ready to take on the world as a solo artist, after only recently discovering his own, unique sound. Although it had been a long time, William had finally separated himself from his contemporaries and has founded uninhabited sonic territory, which leads to one of his latest releases…Reign Of Jupiter.
“That song, to me, was the first one I wrote where I had felt complete artistic freedom. The mainstream music scene had disappeared into the sky and the underground music scene had only gotten deeper underground, leaving the musical ground I was walking on completely bare and non-territorial. I’d spend days and days locked away in my room, getting lost in this composition and what had resulted was the first sign of my own sonic discovery…I had just left musical puberty and matured into somewhat of a professional songwriter. Now it’ll only get better from here…”
With a new EP and tour planned for 2009, be prepared for the next prince of alternative music!
