Willie J. Laws has over 20 years of performing experience and has traveled the world making music. The influences heard in the music of the Willie J. Laws Band are many and eclectic. There are deep roots in the over 100 years of Texas music tradition and uniquely American roots music. The Band is most obviously influenced by James Brown, Robert Johnson, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, Johnnie Taylor,The Texas Tornados, The Rolling Stones, Muddy Waters, Howlin Wolf, not to mention the “Three Kings Of The Blues” - B.B. King, Albert King, and Freddie King.

The Willie J Laws Band (a/k/a The Willie Jaye Laws Band) is a hard hitting trio of tough customers. The Band performs music from a wide variety of genres including traditional and contemporary Blues, R&B, Old School, and old fashioned Rock & Roll. Although the members in the Band have changed over the 21 years since the first unit was first formed, Willie Jaye continues to expertly wield the lead guitar and be lead vocalist. A veteran performer, Willie Jaye engages and involves the audience with easy charm. To accompany him, Willie always uses the best players in the business. The Band performs with a solid foundation of pocket grooves. The Band also mixes it up from time to time with special guests on keyboards, accordion, horns, percussion, and on vocals.
Principal performers of the group hail from the Lone Star State. They proudly work to uphold the over 100 years of Texas music tradition which integrates a variety of American roots music and the unique cultural influences of Texas. You will recognize some of the music performed by the Willie Jaye Laws Band.
