His father and mother sang in the church choir. He is the father and voice coach of Grammy superstar Brandy and Actor/Artist Ray J. Norwood has always used his voice to teach others to sing and uplift their hearts through his unbridled passion for singing and making great music... .. His first commercial album, "Bout it", received a Dove Award nomination. He featured on this album many jazz, contemporary, gospel, R&B and pop greats. Artists Kirk Whalum, Billy Preston (the 5th Beatle), The William Brothers, Brandy, Ray J and his dad, W.T. Norwood, Sr. lent their musical gifts to the album.
