Willie "the Touch" Hayes has been a professional drummer since Koko Taylor hired him for his first gig at 14 years old. He received a Grammy Award with her band in 1984. He also received two W.C. Handy awards while he played with Luther Allison. He has accompanied many Legends such as: Magic Sam, Buddy Guy, Junior Wells, Son Seals, Mighty Joe Young, Big Twist, Lefty Dizz, Jimmy Johnson, Syl Johnson, Jody Williams, Zora Young, Southside Movement, The Mandells, to name just a few. A dedicated family man who has been happily married to his wife Debra for over 20 years. With 5 children & 4 grandchildren, Willie has been blessed. He & Debra are active participants in the Light The Night Walks for Leukemia in memory of their son Willie, Jr. who passed away at age 10.
