....A true original doesn't come along every day, and then seldom from the place one expects. But when an original does come, it comes fast and strong -- with no retreat, no surrender. That law of creation holds true for a certain entertainer known as WILLI ONE BLOOD... .. After Bob Marley’s "Rastaman Vibration" changed his life 23 years ago, One Blood began his study of reggae in earnest, working in a reggae music store and promoting concerts by reggae artists. When business was slow in the record store, One Blood would put his time to good use practicing his deejaying, crafting his own lyrics to fit with the dub side of the latest seven inches of dance hall sounds imported from the islands. By the time he saved up enough money for his first trip to Jamaica, he was able to convert the audience in no time at all when he made his debut opening for the original dance hall monarch King Yellowman. But it was his repeat performances at Reggae Sunsplash, Reggae Sumfest, Sting and countless dance-hall’s that exposed him to all of his Jamaican and international audience... ..This led to work with former Black Uhuru vocalist Junior Ried, the man responsible for the hit, "One Blood" and Willi’s name. In Kingston, the reggae music capital of the world, One Blood soon found himself recording with some of the genre’s top producers including Sly and Robbie. One Blood’s first single, "Pump It Up," was produced by Handell Tucker (Diana King’s "Shy Guy") and the video received heavy airplay in Jamaica. He also has recorded for Niney The Observer, Roof International, and Peoples Records. He has duets with Tony Rebel, Half Pint, Jack Radics, Sluggy Ranks and Dignitary Stylish. His first European release "Empire State" (prod. by DJ Jazzy Nice) was a unique blend of jazz, reggae and hip hop vibes, which One Blood has shaped into his own distinctive sound... .. It was soon after that Willi introduced audiences to "Whiney Whiney (What Really Drives Me Crazy)" on the Dumb and Dumber soundtrack. Billboard called it "a maddeningly catchy ditty that melts sexy and silly rhymes over a jaunty groove." This song catapulted One Blood on to the Billboard charts and earned him a gold record internationally... ..Dumb and Dumber isn’t One Blood’s only film experience. He made his mark on the screen acting in "LEON" aka "The Professional," directed by Luc Besson (La Femme Nikita). Playing opposite Natalie Portman, Gary Oldman and Jean Reno, he turned what could have been a forgettable supporting role into a memorable character. He also has appeared in Joe’s Apartment, New York Undercover and Swift Justice and has several roles in films due this fall... .. His new album BLAZING truly shows his lyrical style. Songs like VIP and Best Of One Blood have already begun to rock local clubs on the east, as well as the west. One Blood joins up with veteran dance hall star, and longtime friend, Half Pint on Bully Dem A Bully. On Rock Me Like A Lover, Willi blends a classic lovers rock style with Led Zepplin’s "Fool In The Rain" to create a cool summer classic. The Style and Hey Raggamuffin are more on the laid back jazzy tip but they definitely keep you in the groove... ..Whether it's music or movies whatever One Blood turns his talents to he's bound to break down barriers. "One thing I've learned in my travels," he says, "is that people have more in common than they want to admit. So we might as well learn to live together. One world, one love, one blood."..
