I've been on this earth eighteen years, and like the majority of the world, have achieved predictably little. I am not one of those people who can walk into a local bar and have a sudden swarm of friends and acolytes around them. That's not to say I don't have friends or acquaintances; if I didn't, there would be little use for this profile.
My name is Charlotte Bryony Kelsey, and I live alternately in London, and in accommodation at the University of Warwick, where I'm a first year undergraduate student, studying for a BA (Hons) in Classical Civilisation. Although I love studying Classics, I'm leaving a lot behind, and I hope that I'll be able to keep up with the people and places that will still be here. I write, and hope that someday I may be able to take this further, although I wouldn't place a bet on it. I tend to go through fazes of either hating my work or feeling that it's a pointless occupation that are sure to hold me back.
'In my spare time'- or rather, most of my time- I like to pursue my interests. Roughly translated, I spend most of my time either online, with friends, reading, playing games or being creative. I dabble not only in writing, but in photography, collage and sketching. I hate things which are inactive, namely eating and watching television in silence. Left to my own devices, I'll always dash between projects and activities, rarely finishing things. However, with people, I'm content to just sit and talk for hours. In the past few years, I've forgotten what being bored is like.
I like long train journeys, sitting in cafés, and exploring new places. I like talk, rather than action and epic plans and projects. I like the homewares part of department stores and pointless gadgets. I like very old things and very new things, but not a lot in between. I like cameras, collecting things, medicines, cats and origami. I like to receive phonecalls far more than I like to make them. I like spontaneous plans and living beyond my means. I like car parks, getting the last bus, watching movies, and receiving mail. I like 'The National Geographic', The British Museum, The London Underground, The Internet and many other things and places. I've been told that I'm fickle with my interests, but at least it keeps me on my toes.
Sometimes, I think I dash through life too quickly, and tend to stay up too late to compensate.
