Here is the kind of dog I want (Bernese Mountain Dog) - how can you resist such a beautiful face?
Music
I love all kinds however typically listen to hard rock, classic rock, metal, R&B, 'new age', Celtic, pagan, classical.... I have a pretty eclectic musical taste. I can listen to Mozart to Metallica, from Loreena McKenitt to Linkin Park, and pretty much anything in between and beyond. The only kind of music I really don't care for is gansta rap - sorry. (I did try, but ... no.) I love a lot of the Boston-based bands, like Aerosmith, Extreme and Boston... and a lot of the "local" music too. I was a student at Berklee College of Music in Boston in the mid 1980's, and made a lot of friends there that are still in the music scene. Kudo's and thumbs up to you all!!!
Movies
Excalibur, A Knight's Tale, What the Bleep Do We Know, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, The King and I (w/Yul Brynner), The Craft, Practical Magic, LOTR Trilogy, Star Wars (all), Streets of Fire, 10 Things I Hate About You, Constantine...Fave Actors & Actresses: Heath Ledger (RIP), Judy Garland, Keanu Reeves, Mel Gibson, Halle Berry
Television
Medium, ER, MASH, Will and Grace, Law and Order, CSI, Charmed, West Wing, Unexplained Mysteries, Ghost Hunter, most stories about the paranormal and unexplained...
Books
Anne Rice, Stephen King, Marion Zimmer Bradley and most pagan authors ... when I choose a book, it's more for the topic of the book (or storyline) than it is because of a certain author. As for style of writing or type of story, usually horror, suspense, mystery, erotica, gothic, pagan.... if it's romantic it has to have one of those other 'styles' going for it (as in not Harlequin romance novels). When I'm not reading fiction, I am usually reading up on different subjects like paganism, witchcraft, wicca, mythology, herbal medicine, comparitive religion, metaphysical topics, paranormal, mysteries and the unknown, and more.

And if you are one of my friends, I would love for you to put your location on MyFrappr map:
About me: I am so many things to so many people... wife & lover, friend, mother... teacher, student ... gardener, reader, poet, musician, crafter ... pagan, witch, psychic, tarot reader and more. I hide my unique qualities and traits under a plain exterior, and only those who truly wish to know me will find them. I am loyal to those I care for and love, and will protect them tooth and nail. (My motto has always been "calm, cool and deadly".) I am open-minded and accepting and my husband says I am loving and caring (almost too much).
I know he thinks you're fine and stuff
But does he know how to wind you up?
~Gwen Stefani, "Wind It Up"
Our traditional Thanksgiving celebration has roots in pagan ceremonies and rituals celebrated throughout many cultures in history. Many of these rituals and ceremonies were adopted by early Christians in order to allow other cultures to easily accept Christianity into their own cultures. Before the establishment of formal religions many ancient farmers believed that their crops contained spirits which caused the crops to grow or to die. Many believed that these spirits were released when the crops were harvested. The spirits had to be destroyed or they would take revenge on the farmers who harvested the crops. Some of the harvest festivals celebrated the defeat of these spirits. Harvest festivals and thanksgiving celebrations were held by the ancient Greeks, the Romans, the Chinese, and the Egyptians.
Demeter, the goddess of all grains, was worshipped by the ancients Greeks. Every autumn a three day festival was held in her honor. On the third day of the celebration was a feast with offerings of seed corn, cakes, fruit, and pigs. It was thought that Demeter's gratitude would grant them a good harvest.
Ceres was the Roman goddess of corn. The word cereal is derived from the name of this goddess. The festival was held each year in October and offerings of the first fruits of the harvest and pigs were made to Ceres. The celebration included music, parades, games and sports, and a feast of thanksgiving.
Chung Ch'ui was the harvest festival celebrated by the ancient Chinese. It occurred with the full moon on the 15th day of the 8th month. This day was considered the birthday of the moon and special cakes were made and stamped with the picture of a rabbit. The families ate a thanksgiving meal and feasted on roasted pig, harvested fruits, and the special cakes. The festival lasted three days and during this time, it was believed that flowers would fall from the moon and good fortune would follow.
