I have posted two of my songs that I performed with my old band the Subcollisions, therefore in the song Anchor there is me singing with a cold and playing my wheezing accordion + Subcollisions, (also note Éric Jarry graciously engineered this session),
Warm worm with the Subcollisions was recorded live at the Tranzac by Dave Lang. Wonder when is just me with insomnia and a hangover accompanied by the cheapo software on my computer pomme. Old men knitting sweaters was recorded by my ol' man.
Influences
Dianne Heatherington, Mary Margaret O'Hara, Tom Waits, Calamity Royale, Bobby McFerrin, Dinah Christie, Wendy McNeill, Mark Rutherford, Screaming Jay Hawkins, Cab Calloway, Ella Fitzgerald, Christine Duncan, Nino Rota, Richard Bona, Betty Carter
Willow was raised in the wilds of Southern Ontario. She
once witnessed the tornado that hit Barrie in the '80's. Pink
insulation, tooth floss, converted rice and hobby horses filled the
sky. When her bed landed in a tree, she climbed down and discovered a
strange instrument, later informed that it was an accordion. Upon
first surprising squeeze, she was hooked and has never looked back.
Since then, she has travelled the world writing songs about hysterical
love, historical magical realism and nature's unpredictability...

I really like your songs Willow. I think you use space and music rests well. We had a really great time in Toronto and hope to come back in the not too distant future. We're just trying to figure out how. (I feel that countries should be able to share their art more freely.) Thanks for playing with us.
