Will Stults’ songs have been called honest, heart-felt, and hilarious. His style has been compared to Blake Shelton, Toby Keith, and Guy Clark. Will is a native of Russellville, AL. a husband and father of one boy.
Songs have always seemed like a part of life for Will, whether it was hearing the songs his Grandmother made up to sing to him as a child, watching his mother study the lyrics of every CD she bought, or listening in awe to his uncles playing the guitar, so it only seemed natural that Will would take to music. In the summer of 2000 his family opened a restaurant in a building originally owned by country legend George Jones. A small room above the restaurant was said to have been built for Jones’ to have a place to illegally drink and gamble when in town. When business was slow Will would head upstairs to practice the guitar he’d been given for Christmas. He started off playing the music of Hank Williams, Merle Haggard and other country legends he loved but soon discovered the joy of writing his own songs.
Will spent the next five years playing for family and friends while developing as a songwriter until the spring of 2005 when he found NSAI’s north Alabama regional chapter. For the next few years he performed weekly at NSAI’s songwriter night in Huntsville , AL . Encouragement and education from the chapter honed his songwriting and performing skills. Recently Will has ventured out as a performer playing in coffee shops, bars, and songwriter shows across north Alabama and Tennessee including four Sunday Night Spotlights at Nashville ’s Bluebird Café and two opening slots with Jim Parker’s Acoustic Songwriters Showcase in Huntsville , AL . Currently Will can be found performing, co-writing, and pursuing a career in the music business from Russellville to Music Row.
Will Stults is currently booking across north Alabama as an acoustic solo act. He can be reached by phone at (256-460-2765) or by email at wcstults@yahoo.com
