Karisa Wilson is an award-winning regional artist from Grand Rapids, Michigan, and signed with indie label GoDiY Records.
Blues, Latin jazz, rock and even hints of country, Karisa threads the musical genres of the world into her own soulfully blended style and tops it off with vocals often likened to the "voice of an angel".
Karisa has played with bands from heavy metal to old timey, and recorded with national acts such as Brian Vander Ark of The Verve Pipe and been among Michigan's finest musicians for the past 10 years. She has opened for an eclectic group of national acts such as Toots and the Maytals, Tim Reynolds, Talib Kweli, 50 Cent, Quiet Riot, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Hollywood’s own Billy Bob Thornton, and Karisa has even performed for President Elect!!!! Barack Obama!
In 2007 Karisa was awarded the Best New Artist Jammie! Her debut album, Little Girl, took home the top award for Best Album. For a more intimate show, her solo sets are perfect for a first date. Or hear the full 4-piece band for a more rockin’ show! Whether Karisa is performing her own material or the occasional carefully selected cover tune, her shows have moved even the most critical of audiences.
