About me: Welcome to the Wilson Vol Fire Co.19 my space page. Here is a little history on WVFC. WVFC was founded originally in 1986 by the Dooms Vol Fire Co. as a substaion to serve the Lyndhurst,Sherando areas for fire protection.Was known as Wilson SubStation Co.19.The fire dept was put on land owned by Mr. Buddy Wilson (Wilson's Farm).The land was sold to the fire dept for $1.00. After 8 years of operation in march of 1994 the fire dept was Incorporated to be known as Wilson Volunteer Fire Co 19,and would operate as an independent fire company. Since then the fire dept has been known as Wilson VFC for 14 years. Wilson vfc has about 25 active members and 9 pieces of appuratus. 2 engines,1 pumper tanker just delivered in spring of 2007 built by pierce,1 utility truck,2 support vehicles,1 evacuation vehicle which is a deuce in a half donated by the VFW Post from Stuarts Draft,1 willys jeep brush truck and a 2nd brush truck on order to replace a 1994 ford f 150 which is due to be delivered in febuary of 08 (2008 ford super duty being built by M&W fire equipment),and last a polaris atv equipted with water and for mtn rescues.
