Writer, producer, director and actor William Winckler comes from a show-business background, as his father, Robert "Bobby" Winckler, was a well-know child actor in the 1930s and '40s. Following in his late father's footsteps, William also began his career as an actor, appearing on such TV shows as "Remington Steele," "Knight Rider" and "The Fall Guy." Winckler also wrote and produced two syndicated television series: the animated sci-fi adventure "Tekkaman the Space Knight" and the live-action comedy program "Short Ribbs," starring Billy Barty.
In 2001, William formed his own production company, William Winckler Productions, patterned in part after American International Pictures (AIP) -- a successful 1950s/1960s low-budget production house -- to write, produce, direct and act in his own cult films. His first venture was "The Double-D Avenger," a comedy reuniting three famous Russ Meyer actresses: Kitten Natividad, Haji and Raven De La Croix. The film received copious kudos, including a review in Variety hailing the picture as "a cheerfully silly ode to larger-than-life femininity." "Double-D Avenger" is a hit internationally as well, in France ("Double-D Avenger - Les Appas De La Justiciere") and in Japan! A second U.S. DVD release is also out with a comical audio commentary by famous drive-in movie critic/guru Joe Bob Briggs, titled "Joe Bob Briggs Presents The Double-D Avenger!"
William's latest film, "William Winckler's Frankenstein Vs. The Creature From Blood Cove," is already receiving similarly rave reviews, and is presently available on DVD in the US through Amazon.com and other retailers.

Writer, producer, director and actor William Winckler is a Hollywood veteran of over 20 years, who produced several syndicated television series and acted in dozens of feature films, TV shows and commercials. William formed his own company in 2001, patterned loosely after the old AIP - American International Pictures - company of the 1950's and '60's. William personally creates each film following traditional genre storytelling and filmmaking techniques.
The company's latest film, "William Winckler's Frankenstein Vs. The Creature From Blood Cove," is an exciting, nostalgic, good old fashioned monster movie/ creature feature, praised by fans and critics. Deliberately shot in black and white, the film boasts many celebrity cameos and special effects makeups by artists from hits such as "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," "Stargate," and "Spiderman." The film is a loving homage to the classic monster films of the 1930's and'40's, and Atomic age creature features of the '50s.
