i am a writer. i write all the time. i have for years but only recently have let others read my words. i am releasing a book this year of selected poems, all paired with photos from my dear friend christy romanick. i have a comic book i'll be getting printed. and a collection of short stories. i started work recently on long form science fiction, about the failings of humans in the future. and about music.
i am a musician. i have always loved music. i have written and played my own now for 16 years. sometimes when i look at the discography of all the things i've done, i cannot believe that could be me, esp as i am never finished with music, i am never satisfied with what i've already done because there is so much more to do.
when people ask me what i do, i tell them i own and run a record store. i have for 10 years now. i am ridiculously proud of my shop, and of the role i play in helping spread the word about music i find worthwhile. music has no boundaries, no preconceived notions, no rules on who you have to be or look like or know to enjoy it's sounds. maybe you could say music is like a dog - always loyal, never discriminating.
people, on the other hand.....well, i named my album for a reason.
