ian masters ( pale saints / friendly science / i'm sore / etc ) and mark tranmer ( gnac / the montgolfier brothers ) started working together in 1999. this collaboration has taken place in japan and england and has involved recording sessions in a very hot house next to a railway track in tachibana near osaka. so far they have released a 10-inch single called time is running out on french label isonauta. they continue to work together and their next release will be a remix of pink snow for a japanese compilation to be released in the second half of 2006.
the songs on the player are:
rio - a track from the 10-inch featuring real cicadas.
black eggs robotik - a different, unreleased, version of one of the tracks on the 10-inch featuring the roland robot voice effect.
the pink snow is on the trees again - an unreleased remix of pink snow, featuring some tubular bells and ian playing the ukulele. nb: this is not the version for the japanese compilation. there are at least 3 remixes of pink snow. all very different.

Our new album "Herbarium" is
out now on CdBaby (MP3 so far, physical CD is on its way).
Diverse palette of styles (post-rock,
ambient, electronica, trip-hop, with elements of noise, dub,
neoclassic and free improvisation), united by cinematic, slightly
pensive mood.
«Herbarium» is called so
because of heterogeneity of «songs», which can be
compared to miscellaneous leaves in the album, still being belonged
to the family of trees. Trying to avoid non-alive metaphors here,
only thought of diversity and warm and innermost feeling that
herbarium is capable to conjure up. «... This leaf I picked up
in the park where I met her, and this - I sat by the river,
contemplating...». So tracks were created – one was captured
in some magic jam, another – recorded layer by layer and
meticulously mixed then, next – cut from previous sessions and so
on.
All compositions are united by Poostosh
sense of music – mostly pensive, spatial, tender and experimental.
There's a lot of soul and charisma in every leaf... So please let
your soul look over our HERBARIUM.
THAT TO SAY ....that I am absolutly fan of all which refers to ian masters -wingdisk is a project in continuity ...dont forget you mr tranmer-i am addict of gnac- but I acknowledge that I dont know all montgolfier brothers works, only "The World Is Flat".
