Wings for Armor’s emotion fueled lyrics accompanied by intense, heartfelt musical arrangements and crashing percussion characterize the sonic experience that drummer Christy and singer/guitarist Murph strive to create during their energetic live shows.
Whether its themes such as anger and depression or those of alienation and transcendence, the subjects explored on Wings For Armor’s self-released debut album create what many in their fan base have defined as ‘a soundtrack for real life’ due to the way the stripped-down revelations encompassed in their brand of experimental rock reveal the universals of the human experience.
From the start, Wings for Armor’s mission has been to fuse a connection that draws audiences in by creating music that people can relate to. With varied influences culled from the world of ‘alternative’ music such as Nine Inch Nails, Tori Amos, Linkin Park, and Pearl Jam, it’s no wonder that these audiences have been left wanting more.
“Growing up, we both really gravitated towards songs written from the perspective of how the writer feels and we try hard to create that same emotional connection with our audience. We don’t want our music to be about consumerism, but strive to create a shared experience with the crowd”.
