Sounds LikeFemale fronted guitar orientated band used as an outlet for various emotions and general mind mess....

We also have a "world music" influence going on. We don't know why.

People have compared us to the following bands/Artists:

Muse, Tori Amos, Cranberries, PJ Harvey, Radiohead, Evanescence, No Doubt, Alanis Morissette, System of a Down, Janis Joplin, Portishead, Nirvana, Nightwish, and the disassociates.

Please draw your own conclusions but be warned that some of these comparrisons are ridiculous.

We now have a 13 track collection of Winter Jargon songs available for download entitled, "The Aftermath"

.. ..

Winter jargon are a band consisting of Samuel Robinson on drums, Timothy Robinson on bass and Rachel Gatiss on guitar and vocals.

By sheer accident and fluke the band were then entered into the Metro Radio battle of the bands 2004, replacing another band that pulled out of the competition. In spite of only existing as a three piece for a matter of months, Winter Jargon got through to the final and the Night Owls Disc Jockey; Alan Robson announced them as the winners of the competition.

True fact: Alan Robson can be quoted as describing the band as " they're just plain weird"

Hello! Thanks for coming to see us the other night..I think you probably came to one of our worst gigs ever! The sound wasnt too good and we struggled to hear anything. Still really enjoyed it and was great to meet you Rachel. I love your music and influences. Great vocals too. Stay in touch.

Wow...
Really.
I've been trying and failing to produce a band, that in my mind would sound much like you, for years.
But you succeeded.
And god damn it sounds amazing.
Thank you for the add.

Have you got any gigs coming up in the Durham area soon, preferably in the Bishop auckland area? If you're gonna do Bishop Auckland choose Monacos (stainy your best contact myspace.com/staincheese) or the Tut 'n' Shive (Myspace.com/abetterclassofinsult) over The Sportsman as that has become a bit of a kindergarten lately!!!
