Winter of Agony was formed in 2005 when Renaud Fortin and Symon Marcoux decided to join their friends Nick Garneau and Frank Latulippe to start a metal band. Further on, they met Steph Lessard who offered them to record their first demo. It was the perfect timing because WoA had already 5 songs ready to be recorded. The recording of the demo was quite extensive because of the keyboard player change. The band decided to take Alex Garneau, Nick’s brother, as the official keyboard player.
After recording the demo, WoA was ready to rock and play some shows. They played in some local bars and community halls. While the crew was playing with bands such as Vortex, Approached by a God, Tormentor Allegoria, Wishmaster, Augury, Memorium and Unexpect, Steph had some hard times mixing and mastering the demo. Those gigs gave us some visibility and many loyal local fans.
At the end of the year 2006 Winter of Agony encountered major problems since Alex and Symon left the band at the same time. Many bands would have just split-up but their core was strong enough to carry on. It wasn’t an easy job to find other members as enthusiastic as Frank, Renaud and Nick. After getting in touch with Steph again, they asked him to join the band as the bass player. He now have a place into the core of the band with his leader attitude. After many try-outs Winter of Agony finally picked a skillful keyboard player, David Poulin.
By now, Winter of Fuckin Agony is ready to kick major asses. Plans for 2008 are to record a full length album, play some gigs outside Quebec City and recruit as many Girls of Agony as possible. Everything is set to DOMINATE THE WORLD!!!!!
