ABOUT US

Wired & Unplugged
717 First Street
Snohomish, WA 98290
360.568.2472

Wired and Unplugged Internet Coffeehouse was born in June of 2004 by Snohomish residents Rick and Kathy Jacobson for the purpose of creating a venue for local musicians. The coffeehouse is located in two storefronts of a 100-year-old building near the river in old Snohomish on the corner of First and Cedar. Some of the art on our old walls was created by artists from the Arts of Snohomish art gallery just across the street.

In May of 2007 Rick and Kathy transferred ownership of Wired & Unplugged to musicians and music patrons Paul Henderson and Kim Longmore. Recognizing the unique convergence of community, Paul and Kim vowed to retain all that was special about Wired & Unplugged while expanding the level of amenities featured by both the venue and cafe. Boasting an expanded menu to include alcohol and a redesigned stage, Wired & Unplugged is the home away from home.

Enjoy wonderfully rich Brown & Co. fair-trade, organic coffee and get cozy with your laptop or a book at one of our tables or on our cozy couches. The coffeehouse has wi-fi, hard cable hookups and a single desktop computer. Computer and wi-fi use are free with purchase.

We have been pleasantly surprised by the wide range of talents, ages and styles of musicians who have found their way through our doors, and by the number of people who, like us, truly enjoy just listening to the great musicians in a cozy, smoke-free environment. We invite you to come take part in the growing community and see why Wired & Unplugged is the celebrated home away from home for so many artists and friends.

Who I'd like to meet:

BOOKING POLICY @ Wired & Unplugged

Here are some things you need to know before you request a show at Wired & Unplugged:

* We are an acoustic coffeehouse. If you like to "turn it up to eleven" you are barking up the wrong tree. We are not the venue for you.

* Wired & Unplugged seats 75 people at capacity in non-uniformed seating. It's a cozy space, but much lauded for having a great vibe.

* Wired & Unplugged splits the cover charge 50/50 with the artist. Our cut is reinvested directly into the venue for future improvements. In the future we would like to offer a larger percentage or guarantee. We are a work in progress!

*With that being said, if you are an acoustic, rock, pop, folk, blues, jazz, indie act (or any combination thereof!) looking for a great room to play to, please contact our booking department at tobook@wiredandunplugged.com. Extra attention will be given to those who leave a phone number. We are always seeking the best local talent to headline our Saturday night shows.

If you have a physical press kit feel free to mail it to:

Wired & Unplugged
ATTN: Booking
717 First St
Snohomish, WA 98290

Do note that we prefer to book from acts we have seen perform at our Friday night open mic. We are a community oriented venue that is focused on cultivating the talent within our own region.

National/West Coast acts are welcome to submit requests and will be considered according to additional criteria.

* House drums are no longer available at this time. Many thanks to Rick Jacobson for the use of his vintage jazz kit over the years. It was well-used and well-loved by many musicians.

Hey, W & U I had fun opening tonight. If I just could have remembered that one word in the last verse of my second song, it would have been a perfect set! Dagnabit! Well, I guess that's what open mics are good for.

It's always fun playin' here. A wonderful listening environment for audiences and that really allows song writers the opportunity for their songs to be heard.

Age: Stress makes him look older than he is. Weight: He doesn't eat. He doesn't even sleep. Turn-offs: People who want to eat him (a turn-off for anyone). Dream: To be on the endangered species list. Best Attribute: Looks both ways repeatedly... even when not crossing the street. Shortcomings: Thinks everyone is after him. (He's probably right!) Appearance: Orange, and always looking over his shoulder. Hidden Talent: Can always spot the hungry person in every room. Quote: "I'm a dead man."
