About me:
..

The End is Here

We wanted to take this opportunity to update you on the status of Wired. As many of you know, we made a painful decision to put Wired up for Sale some months ago. With the current state of the economy, we felt we could no longer sustain the business. By putting Wired on the market, our hope was that someone might be able to continue Wired and all of the wonderful things that it represents. We had serious interest and felt that Wired would continue, however our landlord has decided that he no longer wanted to lease the space to a coffeehouse. We have to respect this decision to move on. There continues to be some interest in purchasing Wired and moving it to a new location and if that does happen we will let you know. In the absence of that happening, Wired & Unplugged will close its doors after the Senate concert on August 30th. We cannot begin to tell you want this community has meant to us personally. You are the ones who made this place and community and it has been an honor to be part of that. It has been a pleasure to watch the growth of diversity and acceptance in this place. The extraordinary talent that have passed through these doors, musicians, songwriters, poets and artists have graced this place and many will go on to extraordinary careers. We would like to thank and acknowledge the wonderful folks who have worked for us. They have been an incredible team and we love each and everyone of them and wish them well. We know that in some way the community created here will continue in some form. It most likely will look different but it will continue. A very special thanks to Kathy and Rick Jacobson for taking a dream and making it a reality. We have some extraordinary events coming through the end of the month, please take the time to come by enjoy this time and with our staff and friends. Sincerely, Paul and Kim .....

A NEW open mic with many of the same community players will continue at Tim Noah's Thumbnail Theater, on the corner of 4th and Avenue D. Friday nights, starting Sept. 5. Signup at 7PM.

ABOUT US

Wired & Unplugged
717 First Street
Snohomish, WA 98290

Wired and Unplugged Internet Coffeehouse was born in June of 2004 by Snohomish residents Rick and Kathy Jacobson for the purpose of creating a venue for local musicians. The coffeehouse is located in two storefronts of a 100-year-old building near the river in old Snohomish on the corner of First and Cedar. Some of the art on our old walls was created by artists from the Arts of Snohomish art gallery just across the street.

In May of 2007 Rick and Kathy transferred ownership of Wired & Unplugged to musicians and music patrons Paul Henderson and Kim Longmore. Recognizing the unique convergence of community, Paul and Kim vowed to retain all that was special about Wired & Unplugged while expanding the level of amenities featured by both the venue and cafe. Boasting an expanded menu to include alcohol and a redesigned stage, Wired & Unplugged is the home away from home.

Enjoy wonderfully rich Brown & Co. fair-trade, organic coffee and get cozy with your laptop or a book at one of our tables or on our cozy couches. The coffeehouse has wi-fi, hard cable hookups and a single desktop computer. Computer and wi-fi use are free with purchase.

We have been pleasantly surprised by the wide range of talents, ages and styles of musicians who have found their way through our doors, and by the number of people who, like us, truly enjoy just listening to the great musicians in a cozy, smoke-free environment. We invite you to come take part in the growing community and see why Wired & Unplugged is the celebrated home away from home for so many artists and friends.

Hello from Japan!! just stop to say our information. next our "Bigfish live show" is scheduled on 7th December at Kichijoji MANDA-LA2, Tokyo. Three Japanese Female peaceful singers; Hana Saito, NAORYU and Rika Shinohara play there. Their performings sound folky heart-warm and acoustic. thanks for checking our live information. Hope everything is good in your life ! ARIGATO

Feeling a little nostalgic today - thinking about the times people would come in to sing me through the day. Such fine gifts. Such luxury.

I invite our open mic friends to check out our new home at the Thumbnail Theater on Friday nights. We're hanging out at 4th & Avenue D and more and more of our old friends are coming by to check it out and the reviews are all positive! It's not Wired, and it doesn't pretend to be Wired, but it's a play for us to play and listen to the great music we've come to expect in Friday nights!

The acoustics are great, the room feels good and it's away from those noisy bars. What more could you want?

See you soon, I hope.

Like the others, I will miss W&U, but I'm also pleased to let everyone know that we've already found a new home for our open mic.

We'll be hanging out at Tim Noah's Thumbnail Theater, on the corner of 4th and Avenue D. Friday nights, starting Sept. 5. Signup at 7PM.

Come on over and check it out. We hope to have most of the same fine musicians and friends at our new home!

Good Bye Wired.....So sad that the artistic kids of Snohomish will no longer have a place to share their passion for music. There is not enough for the NON JOCK and non-sports fan type kids to congregate.

Happy trails my little coffee friend and everyone who loves Wired and Unplugged. So grateful for my time there and for all of you who shared your talents, your friendship and your kindness, and turned a couple of rectangular rooms into such a warm, cozy and wonderful spot.

So thankful to Paul and Kim for taking over the tending and keeping the home fires burning when the wind went out of my sails, and then keeping the welcome mat out for me. Sincere kindness.

Nothing is permanent. Whatever happens, we made music there, we made friends there, and we witnessed magic there pretty regularly.

I hope you make it out to enjoy it there over the next couple weeks and to share gratitude for the place with Paul and Kim.
