  • Heroes

    One of our heroes is the 1999 Sweet Adelines International Quartet Champion "Rumors." They have just retired after their remarkable run to the top of this very elite group of singing women. Their "bow out" performance was on Saturday night, April 26, 2008, in Richardson, Texas.

    These women have inspired us in SO many ways, and it is a true pleasure to hear them sing. We will miss their live performances, but fortunately they made four CDs over the course of their SAI career (yes, we have ALL of them!), so their gorgeous music will live on.

About me:

official quartet photo - comp 2009

We are Wired Four Sound Quartet, four friends who LOVE getting together and singing barbershop music! We are located in east-central Iowa, and are members of the Cedar Harmony Chorus and Sweet Adelines International. Please check out the website for our chorus at http://cedarharmony.binhost.com

We sing a wide variety of music; there's much more to barbershop than "Lida Rose"! Almost any song can be arranged in the barbershop style, and we just love singing that way!

Singing in a quartet is a unique, fun and truly AWESOME experience! We have all become better singers because of it (we hope!) And we KNOW we have become great friends. Nonetheless, even the very best of friends have "rules" that govern their relationship; these are ours:

1. If Jan doesn't like it, we don't wear it.
2. If Betty doesn't like it, we don't sing it.
3. If Carla doesn't like it, she rewrites it.
4. If Marcia doesn't like it, it means we went sharp AGAIN!

Yes, please note that these gals are who we would like to MEET; this is NOT us! This is one of Sweet Adelines International's world champion quartets, SALT. We'd have the current champs, Four Bettys, here but for the fact that we actually HAVE met them ... :-)

    You are a lovely group indeed! I had not seen that picture. Carla, you have skills, girl, putting these pages together. You know I had to have lots of help with mine! And thanks again for updating my page! I love it!
