The Toronto Star describes Wiretap as "[pitting] the absurd against the plausible. The sense is of a world not completely unlike our own that runs parallel... conversation, storytelling and introspection, culled from equal parts real-world experience and the warp of Goldstein's imagination" and The Montreal Gazette calls the show "something between borscht-belt comedy and Franz Kafka." Earlier this year, WireTap was awarded the Gold World Medal for Best Regularly Scheduled Comedy Program at The New York Festivals.
Jonathan Goldstein's writing has appeared in The Walrus, The New York Times, GQ, and The National Post. He is a frequent contributor to PRI'S This American Life and the New York Times Magazine. He is an editorial board member of the Public Radio Exchange and was a 2002 co-recipient of The Third Coast Audio Festival's Gold Prize. In 2004, he was awarded a Canadian National Magazine award for humor. His novel, "Lenny Bruce is Dead," made its US debut earlier this year.
Whether he is arguing with an ex-girlfriend about his lack of style, counselling a friend who's recently become addicted to eating rabbit food, or trying to give his nephew advice about women, Jonathan Goldstein gleefully welcomes all eavesdroppers. Each episode swings back and forth between his monologues and phone chats with a roster of some of the funniest story-tellers on the radio today.

whatt?? oh no! i slept through the seduction segment . Not saying I'm proud of that... instead i was dreaming of a guy whose hair felt like a labradoodle. sexy. Hey! you wrote a funny book! ja, catxox
I'm not really concerned - so far I'm one of three people I know that's hip to Wiretap, and I like it that way. It makes me feel elite. I was just wondering when Tucker is going to get his own show. It could just be him slowly eating a souvlaki while clouds gather over his head. Each segment could be a good 20 minutes long, just him chewing really slow and sad, and at the end, he gets his check and just looks at it and kind of sighs and then finishes the last couple of bites.
John, I heard your show last night on NPR, I listen when I can. DUDE, your mom and pop during that question segment? PRICELESS!! I was cracking up! I almost got into an accident.. you've got to get them on the phone more often, that was GOLDEN! keep up the show, I love it.
Goldstien! As a ferell man, I must hear The Wolf Boy, The Monkey Boy and The Daddy's Boy again. It is part of my daily reaffirmation ritual. Without it, I fall out of sorts with my canine bretheren. Please help me rectify this situation immediatly, if not sooner. That is all, my friend. Thank you for your quality program.
Whoa! Re: Coffee and Tea, together at last, ME TOO! I've been pitching "coff-tea" to my friends for some months now. To no avail. The world will never understand.
