1773 started off as a collective of two emcees from Chicago, IL. The group name comes from the areacode of Chicago, 1-773. Just J and Wisdm O.N.E. came together in 2004 to put together a nice side project. 11 solid feel good hip hop songs with substance and matter in their concepts. Something that is rarely found in music these days. With only 2 features on thier debut album from Praverb and vocalist, Eileen Torres suppling her lovely voice on one of the songs, Wisdm O.N.E. & Just J really wanted to showcase what they can bring to the table. They released the debut album indenpendently in march of 2006 with a promotional tour to support the release of the album. A two week and a half tour that spand from the midwest out to the west coast. DJ Moral One joined the group for the tour and with the chemistry between the three, it was only right for Moral One to become the third member of the group. Now a three man crew, 1773 quickly developed a fanbase and a buzz with every show they did across the U.S. Within the 4 years that the group has been together they have performed and have shared the stage with artists such as Lyrics Born, Blackalious, Pigeon John, L.A. Symphony, Ohmega Watts, Othello, Braille, Blu & Exile and so many others.
On there self-titled debut album the group recieved a helping hand from several friends to make the album come to life. Cuts are provided throughout the album by DJ Bombay and DJ Moral One. This album also features production from some very talented producers. On the production team we have none other than Tony Stone who heads up the majority of the beats on the album. Also the Lightheaded gang, thats right people! Ohmega Watts, Othello and Braille all supplied some lovely tracks. Ill Quality, an up and coming producer on the scene also lays his talent down on the beat tip to round off the first album from 1773. With distribution in Japan through River City Music Entertainment and a new album that is due out in the fall of 2008, there seems to be no slowing down for this 3 man crew.
